I work from home now. Kinda wish I didn’t even own a car anymore

Somebody is buying them because they keep building them and must be making a killing from them

The people who put $100K into a depreciation evaporator are not wealth building.

I can absolutely afford it, but I'm not spending $100K on a vehicle.
And if I did, it sure as frick wouldn't be a Jeep.

It doesn’t matter what the vehicle is- Jeep, Porsche, Lexus, F350. Not every person “buying a $100K” vehicle is doing so to “keep up with the Jones’s”. Some of them can actually afford it. And they want it. Good on them. It keeps the car
Manufactures in business. Can’t have used vehicles for all the financial sages of the OT to purchase illustrating their superior money management skills if you don’t have new ones to start with.

That was me. Thank you for the compliment as I am much older than 30. Did your wife go to the bar to get a drink while waiting for a table? If so she hit on me nonstop while I was waiting for a to go order at the bar. She was there with three couples.
$100K is insane for a car....if you cannot afford it. The car is a small expense for me. Why did I get it? Classic American luxury, massive power, larger space than every SUV out there besides an Escalade ESV or a Navigator L, tech features out the wazoo, and the most comfortable riding vehicle I have ever owned.
Wagoneer customers have their own service advisors and technicians, and they come to your house to pick up your car for service, and provide a loaner Wagoneer. When you are running a successful business, time saving conveniences like this makes the sale.
For depreciation, I keep my cars for 10 + years anyway so it does not matter for me as you take the hit the first 5 years, plus I am driving a car without
A monthly payment for 5+ years, while the rest of Americans have car notes their entire life, and have an obsession of trading in their cars within 5 years of ownership.....at the height of its depreciation.
I think people are idiots who buy toys like side by sides, boats, ATV's, motorcycles, etc. Those guys are financing such non essential assets for 7% with a middle class income. I bet several of the posters here are in that situation. And the more toys they have the more maintenance/insurance is required. We spend our weekends focused on growing the business, while they spend their weekend working on maintaining a depreciating non essential asset that they struggle to afford. So tell me who is the real idiot?
Look in the mirror before you judge.

Complete waste of money for a depreciable asset. Why not spend half of that and donate the rest to help the less fortunate? You won’t even have that vehicle in 15 years.
You are not the market for this vehicle.

I picked up a couple to give out as Christmas gifts last year. They are pretty nice.
Posted on 3/27/22 at 10:52 pm to Hammond Tiger Fan
No. They just make them and scrap them when nobody buys them. They don’t spend tens of millions to study market demand. They just throw stuff into car lots and “hope.”
