Are there that many people who are really buying cars/trucks/SUVs that cost $100K?

The 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer price starts at $86,995. That’s the bottom of the MSRP range, which goes up to $103,995

I saw a commercial for this SUV tonight and my damn jaw dropped to the floor. Who in their right mind would pay $100k for a depreciating asset that will lose 50% of its value within 5 years? Even if I was OT rich, I still wouldn't spend that much. The trend of "Keeping up with the Jones" must still be alive and well even with $4.00/gallon gas in this country.

No thanks. I’ll keep my ‘17 Explorer until the wheels fall off.

(Insert Ford joke here)

Spending $100k on a box that gets you from point A to B is retarded.

Well unless they start making them cheaper a lot more people will be paying 100k for vehicles in the next few years.

F250’s are on their way to 100k and will probably be there in the next 15 years.

Why do vehicle prices trigger some of you so much?

Even an 8 year plan would run you over $1k a month.

Because they load them with ridiculous useless shtt and hold leather seats hostage.

Example, F150 Lariat

I drive an old truck, but I understand the need for a comfortable family vehicle. That said, my wife’s CRV fits the bill and you could buy 3 of them for that price. And it’ll be worth 70% of what I paid for it in 5 years.

Paid off 2016 f150 xlt crew 4x4

Don't plan on buying anything soon, probably until 2025-2028.

We will just keep upgrading the "family vehicle" for the twins

I just can't see myself doing it. Wife wants a Highlander that is $42K and I think that's ridiculous. I want a Tundra, but they're 60K. I'll be driving my car until it won't drive anymore. Now I see why my parents are the way they are.

People spend a lot more on another type of box that’s mostly stationary during use

The US is a big country. Even if 2% of the taxpaying population can afford >$100k vehicles that's still millions of people.
