As a concept, no. But my first few times using them had me confused. Lol
Spent time in Colorado last year and some roundabouts three and four lanes, with 5 or 6 exits. Listening to the navigation lady was stressing at times!
Was glad for the dispensaries! Lol

About once a week in Hammond I'll be already in the roundabout in the right lane when someone in the far right lane of a 2 lane road will not even check up and pull into the roundabout thinking they have their own lane

And just think, Tangipahoa was pretty high on the list of educated parishes

These are the best when it's a large roundabout and it's still too new to be on the map.

I always laugh when it's in a high traffic area and people are tailgating in the roundabout to not letting people merge. So you are forced to just sit there and see the anger/stress on their faces

Depends on the intelligence quotient of the driver charged with navigating the roundabout.

That's why they don't have any in Bawcomville.

The planner/engineer that designed 3 roundabouts back to back for Hammond had to have drawn that up as a practical joke.

An alarming number of people don't understand how to efficiently and properly navigate a 4-way stop. Anything foreign or different is going to be a clusterfrick.

Roundabouts are on the table for roadwork that will be going on near me soon. I hope they decide against them.

Seems like most of America still can't even figure out a 4-way stop.

We have a new one where I live and in the first week I saw people making left turns which is really hard to do at the angle you enter the roundabout. Luckily nobody was coming but both times it was an old lady who had no idea what to do.

not if you have every single road memorized and committed to memory

the signs are the issue, you literally must stop and park in the road or circle for a half hour as you try to read a sign thats 30ft off the road, and way off to the side so you arent looking where you are driving any more, to read the tiny lettering

roundabouts only work when strangers who have never been there before can easily read the signs and identify the road/exit they want to use

the people who drive them every day can do it only because they already know every exit and every road name

The worst offenders are those that stop in the middle of the lane and try to wave someone in in front of them thinking they are being nice.

I hate these people. And I promise that's not the only dumb thing they do trying to be nice.

That's pretty much the problem. Yielding is what other people do.

Bad drivers are bad all the time, despite road shape, signage, or speed.

Roundabout, 4 way stop, and passing lane PSAs with graphics could benefit this country.
