Every fricking person here has seen the shitty portrait videos on TV and YouTube, yet these fricking idiots still film in portrait!

WTF people! Are phone makers going to have to only allow video recording in landscape mode to teach you fricking morons?

If you film in portrait, I hope you die in a fire.

Example of fricked up video. Hammerhead shark chasing a tarpon

It's annoying but is there anything other than people bitching on the internet which will teach people to not do this? People don't learn until after they upload a video in portrait and read the comments.

I'm Always bitching about it but I always catch myself doing it too.

Then again I don't post videos on social media so it's just fine when I'm watching on my phone

This is definitely part of it. Another big part of it is that one has a much better grip on one's phone when holding it "portrait" style.

It's easier to hold the phone in portrait.

You can EASILY one hans it in Portrait. Not so much in Landscape.

Plus most of the time people are filming other people. Do you really need to see the surrounding sidewalk or alley when 2 black dudes are fighting?

If it weren't for the guy who doesn't like restaurant checks, this would be the POTN.

wish they would make the camera, by default, always record in landscape despite what orientation the phone is in.

i'm even fine with being able to turn this feature off, because the people who aren't aware enough of what they're doing to take the half second to flip the phone and film in landscape, won't ever bother to turn it off.
