Assuming any poster in this thread could even get an F1 car around the track once at full-speed, you would be hard pressed to do a second lap. The mental focus and physical strength and stamina required to drive one of those things is elite level.

I almost added in my post earlier that nobody on this site except maybe Obtuse1 (who races, but I bet he would understand the gap and say he couldn't) could even get an F1 car to start properly.

Great video. Those cars are just insane. I saw one up close once at Charles DeGaulle airport. They are supremely impressive.

I've taken some fast street cars around a track, and that's a workout. I can't begin to imagine driving an F1 car, much less racing it. Sim racing an F1 car takes immense amount of mental power. Now add in the physical forces and 19 other cars. No way.

Threads like this are great. Autists vs mouth breathers on the OT debate over something neither can comprehend

Arguing against shows a person has zero idea what driving these cars involves.

Professional downhill skiers just stand on two sticks and let gravity do its thing.

Absolutely are athletes

Have you seen the forces that they endure or the cardio that is required to stay sharp during those races?

Probably so just because of their elite reaction times

The same logic makes gamers athletes, which they are not.

Maybe not athletes, but they're in better shape than 99.6% of the OT

There hasn't been a single gamer yet to win a F1 race. There's the one gamer who did some F3 stuff but he's not even top of the heap in F3.

Yes. Those cars are brutal on your body.

I did the Barber F4 school and even that was rough after a few days.

I think he meant gamers in general.

ATHLETE: a person who is proficient in sports and other forms of physical exercise.

SPORT: an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment.

Though F1 drivers are more than likely in top shape, they are not competing in a sport or physical exercise.

One may make the argument that being a driver is physical exertion, but I don’t believe it falls under that category.

MW disagrees with your definition.

quote:

: a person who is trained or skilled in exercises, sports, or games requiring physical strength, agility, or stamina

ETA:

quote:

Though F1 drivers are more than likely in top shape, they are not competing in a sport

This makes you retarded.
