re: Are any of you wearing a mask when you go out in public?

Nothing for me. I went to Kroger yesterday and it was comical seeing what everyone was wearing.

It’s also funny to see a board judge people for wearing a mask during a pandemic but when someone posts something during normalcy, the response is usually “I can’t imagine being someone who cares about what another grown man wears in public.”

Douche bag. You know you can order fabric masks from Etsy. While I don't wear one, everyone who does is not keeping them from medical personnel.

Perfectly acceptable to not wear one, but putting a paper mask over your face a few times a week doesn’t sound like “living in fear” to me.

Nah. Have some N95 masks (from well before this pandemic), but haven’t felt the need to wear it.

Going to the store as little as possible, and my preferred store is not heavily trafficked. I sanitize the cart handle with a wipe, sanitize my hands after I load the car, unload everything at home, and do a full hand washing after. Don’t touch my face during any of that time.

A woman was in there the other day with a mask and gloves, feeling all over the pirogue of boiled crawfish and having a store clerk feeling them too (checking weight???). Strange.

I've only been to a store once in the last couple of weeks, and I wore a mask. I already had some masks for when I do yard work b/c of my allergies so it isn't from some stockpiling. I wore the mask for a few reasons... I don't give a frick what other people think of me. I really don't trust people that are sick to be cautious. Too many careless assholes out there. And most importantly, I'm helping a parent that fits high-risk categories (age, diabetic) and I can't risk getting them sick. Personally, I don't fear for myself. I'm sure I'll get it eventually, and I'll be fine when I do. But my parents' health is more important than my vanity during a short trip to the store.

Exactly.

You’d have to be a complete asshat to judge people who wear them now, particularly given all of the mixed messages and outright misinformation floating around about how this virus is spread.

People have worn these things for years during flu season, for allergies, etc.

I wore one of these to the grocery yesterday double layered over nose/mouth.

German locals were probably like wtf.
