You serious?

Pretty serious, but I also tend to keep to myself and not pay much attention to what's going on once I'm in my seat and situated. I know I've never had a problem finding overhead space, and I generally wait until close to last boarding call to get on the plane. Plus if I've checked a bag, I usually only have a small back pack I'm fine with putting under the seat.

But I agree I think they should charge for carry-on bags and make checked bags free.

Not anymore. Once or twice a year maybe. Even when I was flying more, I never ran into it that I can recall. I'm sure it happened on a flight I was on, but I missed it because it didn't impact me.

Once or twice a month for 2-3 years.

I that very much? Seemed like a lot to me at the time. But I'll let you guys decide.

My daughter was trying to get back to MSY last night from JFK, her flight was supposed to leave at 8:00 last night and didnt end up leaving until 12:30 am. She didnt get home and in bed until 4am

Last month, I was on a flight from ATL to JAX that was supposed to leave at 11:50 PM. We didn't leave Atlanta until 1:44 AM. It was brutal

Yeah that’s just more time catching a buzz in the bar.

Getting home at 3:30 AM on a Monday when I had to work the next day was the brutal part.

Those extra bags those bags carry aren’t for what they need on the trip, baw. Blee dat.

Well aware. I also work with them.

most of them are pretty efficient at packing for travel though.

It’s about 50/50 in my experience.

And not all pilots pack light either. I’ll see some with 3 pieces and we’re on an RJ.

Our airports are staffed with McDonalds workers

I have never had a problem with counter staff at MSY. The lines have been long or kiosks down but the staff has always been working.

Now TSA is definitely staffed with fast food workers.

I flew home Friday from ATL, Monday I flew back. It was a jungle at the airport with that many people there.

Yeah, it’s a mix, I’ve had layovers near holidays and the FAs would have their overnight bag and their work bag and we’d get to the hotel and they’d say, “ hey, we’re going to debrief in whatever room, be there at whatever time,” you get there and the place looks like a banquet room and they’re all dressed for a semi formal holiday party, I’m like, wtf did they get all of this shite?

People thinking a shiny new building will magically change that. ?

It will probably be worse at the new airport because of how totally stupid the employee parking situation will be. It's bad now but will seemingly be worse once the new airport opens... in 2119.

Essence is generally the worst time for airport staff. Not only are the loads usually heavier than other festivals but you are also dealing with 4th ot July (especially when it falls on a Friday-sunday so the sick calls are plenty and then the airlines or other businesses are then understaffed and dealing with a massive shite show. Mardi Gras and Jazzfest were up there with Essence but now that there isnt PBM essence is the worst.
