I think we can start to peel back some of the restrictions come 4/30 assuming the numbers are trending extremely favorably by then. PPE in public should be encouraged, maintaining 6' as much as possile. Bars/restaurants/retail/offices with occupancy limits for 30,60 days. All of that is realistic IMO.
We also need testing to increase 100x across the board and clear guidelines on how to proceed going forward if someone is sick or contracts corona.

No chance in hell. The libs want several months of this so millions upon millions will be dependent on the gibmwnt.

if the new projections are correct, there would literally be no justification to not begin loosening restrictions come May 1st

They better open everything up this is bullshite. I am tired of watching netflix.

Yeah they'll start slowly opening placing with restrictions on # of people allowed. May 1st for Louisiana. Hospitals are passed the worst peak of it in Louisiana and the Louisiana death peak is expected tomorrow. By the end of the month we'll be trending in the correct direction...opening restaurant tables for 15 or less people and full blown by June 1.

Don’t the CDC guidelines say there needs to be declining new cases and deaths for 4 straight weeks before opening anything up.
I mean the CDC is going to recommend as conservatively as possible. If they had it their way we would shut down completely until next spring. At some point sooner than that the risk/reward in terms of economic loss (which equates to human life loss as well) will have to outweigh the push for complete eradication before resuming normal activities
April 30th is too soon imo. But I think end of May is realistic and June should be back in a half full swing

This needs to be a parish-by-parish decision, and the Governor needs to communicate it as such. There is no way that Orleans and West Carroll (zero cases), for example, should be on the same timeline or be under the same social guidelines.

as numbers of infected and deaths are going up still.
Louisiana hasn't reported a single recovery, until they do the infected number will only go up.
Same with deaths, that number will never get lower.

I don't disagree that it will frick many people over. I just don't see us stopping the virus and # of infected increasing and reopening stuff at the same time.

Ya'll know there is an official website you can go to that is updated for each state each date and it drastically reduced the potential number of deaths in a lot of places. In fact your state has a drastic change in projections today from over the weekend. Each day the graphs become more on point, for obvious reasons. But hey, everyone post their stupid opinions.

Bump. Still going with June 15th

I think May 30 we see some lifting but June 15 would not surprise me. The many of us who have plans at beaches over Memorial Day and following week gonna get very nasty if the southern governors do not give us a break.
