I like John Legend's work. He is a talented guy. I don't plan on seeing it, but I would not object to seeing it.

You're obviously at least 5 million of those listens, gay boy.

I will sing every word to this right now in the middle of my office.

But I'm sure a kid who graduated high school at 16 as Salutatorian, attended Penn, worked for a Boston consulting firm, then had his side project of music turn into a career that won him 10 grammys (28 noms), is probably too stupid to figure something like that out.

I like some of his music, especially the more Jazz-y stuff, but I hate his politics as well and think his wife is weird looking lady.
But I admit he's smart AF. That's my point. Everyone in this country immediately calls people idiots for having different politics.
I severely disliked most of Obama's fiscal policy changes. I still admit he's a smart fricking dude.

The original Superstar was sacrilegious. Cant imagine how bad this one will be.
Ah, but in the original, the only black apostle was Judas. John Legend as Jesus? Yea, Affirmative Action!!!

With the constant promo, I'm already tired of it.

the play was fun and had good music. This could be entertaining if nothing else. The live action Broadway plays on network tv have all been hit or miss.

He could play the hell out of those bagpipes.

Will tune in but I plan to be underwhelmed. After seeing it at the Saenger, with Sebastian Bach (Skid Row) playing Jesus, John has big shoes to fill.

Everyone knows Santa is black, not Jesus. No way this flies!

Looking forward to it very very much. Sara Bareilles just might be a great Mary Magdalene.
ETA: Does anyone know who's playing Judas, who is at least as important as Jesus in this thing? When I looked at it a month ago, it was still a secret.
Brandon Victor Dixon is playing Judas. He recently finished a stint in Hamilton on Broadway as Aaron Burr (which is kind of a similar role to Judas in JCS). He's good: LINK
I love the original recording of Superstar so I'll be watching this for sure.

People who let politics blind them are retards in a way.
This. Who gives a frick what John Legend's political views are? He isn't a politician, he is a musician and although most people will not agree because most of yall can't look past the fact someone doesn't have the same views as you, he is actually really talented and there really isn't any debate about it.
He is a singer, songwriter and musician who has worked with everyone from Jay-Z to Britney Spears.. And again, you might not like their music, but there are a lot of people who does and they are successful so working to produce music with successful artist means he is at least okay at what he does...

Everything's Alright is a hell of a song. It's in 5/4, quintuple time.. really badass song writing.
