I like the sides at Popeyes but the chicken is overrated imo.

Most of the chain chicken places vary significantly by region and even with individual locations. When they are all at their best I prefer KFC over Popeyes it tends to be much juicier. That said most of the KFCs I have been to on LA suck.
The one thing almost all of them share is an unusually large number of incorrect orders. Chicken places are the only fast food I will not order at the drive through, I go in so I can watch them pick my order.

Anybody remember Freakin chicken? It was right next to Gardere. That place had good chicken and the pieces were huge. They had to shut it down after being robbed so much. I always wondered if the owners/cooks went somewhere else and opened another place..

KFC is a never even if very hungry in a shitty town with nothing else. Popeyes has really gone into the toilet in the last 5 or 6 years too. The sizes of the chicken pieces has gotten so small that they must be unsaleable to any other merchant. Popeyes locations have been closing from lack of business and inability to keep employees. Their pay scale must be even lower than other shitholes because frequently employees did not show up at one location near me. They got so little business before they shut down for good that the place was overrun by friends of the employees hanging out and trying to mooch free chicken.

I like KFC as a change of pace chicken when i get tired of popeyes. Id say for every 10 popeye visitis ill throw in a KFC.
