Angola isn't the only prison in Louisiana

Get this: his GF that he was with that night and dated for like 4 years is now dating one of his LSU buddies.
Imagine being on trial for your life and then find out your “buddy” and old girl are banging… Salt in the wound.

Buddy to Garrett: "Don't worry Garrett, I'll keep her company while you're away."

I feel bad for the deceased man, his family, assuming they gave a shite. I also feel bad for Garrett's parents...that's certainly a parent's worst nightmare.
This case, hopefully, will wise some people up. I'm all for a good time...a great time...that said, it can be a very slippery slope.

I've learned the importance of livestreaming to worldstar. This isn't even a trial if he does this

Yeah lots of lives are now changed forever. All because he got black out drunk.

Anyone know if they just reserve Angola for people doing long sentences or life? I know we also have Dixon and Hunt's around here.
ETA - looks like the average sentence at Dixon is 22 years

How do you know this? You believe his blacked out drunk story?

I wouldn't say it was ALL because he got blackout drunk. I've done that plenty of times, but I don't think I ever beaten someone to death during one though

The maximum security inmates at the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola either are serving life sentences (63.1 percent) or sentences of more than 20 years (27.6 percent). The average sentence length is 53.9 years.
Ward could end up doing the full 40 years without the benefit of parole. With Williams leading the prosecution, he could ask for the full 40 years without parole.
Ward’s what, 33 years old by now, even if he does 30 years, he’ll be 63 years old by the time of his release. frick that.

Just long enough to perhaps live the last 10-15 yrs of your life outside of prison. Maybe in a halfway house or some government housing.
Your parents, aunts, uncles etc will all likely be dead. That's pretty depressing to think about.

Why the frick would he not at least try to cut the ankle bracelet and just JET somewhere
Pretty sure his family had to put up some serious assets to bond him out. So he would have fricked them hard
His only moves were face the music or off himself

I believe based on how they bonded him out, his parents and one of his relatives would lose their houses if he did that.
Suicide was his only alternative.
