I've been cutting processed foods and carbs tremendously this past couple years.

I'm 36 and I am on Lisinopril. I'm fat and have a (to me) high pressure job. My tinitis is also awful.

Turning 42 in a month and just got prescribed with zestoretic, lipotor, and scheduled a meeting with an Audiologist to address my tinidus. All in one Doctor's visit.

Started amlodipine, which is pretty low-level stuff, last year at 43. Turn 44 next month. But nothing else other than what I take on a preemptive basis due to family history. There's a lot of factors involved which include age and genetics.

Cholesterol isn’t a bad thing, statins will kill you

Not sure why you are getting downvotes except people don’t want to believe everything they’ve been told is a lie I guess.

Eat fatty ruminant meat, stay away from or minimize carbs and avoid processed food, move around and lift heavy things. Your blood pressure will normalize pretty quick.

Y’all downvoters are some fricking retards, enjoy being a slave to big pharma and frequent doctor visits.

People have been sold on taking magic pills to mask issues.

How do people still believe cholesterol is bad in the 2020s?

Lose weight. I was on my HBP meds and cholesterol meds for about 5 years. Lost 50 lbs, and no longer need any of it. Good luck

Real talk. Did your doctor not suggest getting fit and losing 20 lbs first? You don’t have to get that fit to improve

I've been on Bystolic for the last 10 years with minimal side effects. Got diagnosed with high BP when I was was 15 years old and 6' 170 with damn near a six pack. Just unlucky I guess

I've got bad tinnitus too

Tinnitus is a common side effect of high blood pressure and allergies, I've had tinnitus for as long as I can remember. You learn to live with it.

Been on blood pressure meds since I was in my late 40s. I'm a fat boy now but was not when I first started on HBP meds. My late brother since his 30s. My brother was never overweight until he was in his 60s and then not obese, my mom was not overweight until she was in her 70s as she became less active, she was never obese, she passed away in 2022 at 86 years old. All my siblings and my mom were on high blood pressure meds regardless of weight. I would say there is a clear genetic component for us.

Nothing wrong with bp meds. If you need them you need them.

I take the lipitor very infrequently. It does a number on cholesterol. If I take it 2xs a week I get to total 175 and LDL around 70.
That's great, but LDL doesn't really matter.
