Damn cuz, are you vegan? That’s pretty low, like so low you may need to raise it. Your body needs fats for many reasons. My good friend is a strict vegan (no fats, dairy, etc…just veggies) and he has to supplement fat for normal brain function and other things in the body.

Doctors and nurses always pawned it off on "you must get nervous coming to the doctor, your blood pressure is high". They were the experts, I believed them.

They weren't wrong in that white coat syndrome is real and fairly common. That is why doctors will often tell you to buy a blood pressure monitor and chart your BP at home. That is probably what they should have done.

That's what happened to me. I would get high readings but I could feel my nerves. High initial reading, the doc would take it after we chatted and it would be mostly normal. I started to get concerned and went back specifically to try to see what was real and what was in my head. I tracked it myself for 3 months and had a follow-up. He looked at my numbers, checked my home machine to "calibrate" and said "these look great... you're fine"

I just went to the dentist and it was very high. I checked it twice this morning before going and it was perfect.

I can't totally shake the lab coat syndrome, but at least I am understanding it better.

What? That’s in the healthy range, and did you not read his height and weight stats and that he works out?

Abstaining from all fats goes well beyond veganism. You sure he's not a 'fruitatarian' or whatever the hell they're called?

There are lots of benefits to ACEi meds. They are both cardioprotective and renal protective, as they can prevent cardiac remodeling.

They would be one medication that you could argue would be extremely beneficial to give to the population at-large before problems develop. There are actually a few, well-tolerated medications that deal with metabolic and cardiovascular health that we could use sort of prophylactically, especially given that we are apparently using a medication designed around better regimen adherence and glycemic control for type 2 diabetics, GLP-1 agonists, as first-line medications for weight-loss.

When mass prescribed to anyone who wants them yes they are. There’s a percentage of people out there who don’t need them. They need to change their diet and lifestyle and exercise and mental health will follow.

Luckily that doesn't really happen. Because it isn't though those medications don't have specific indications.

Let's be real, you don't know anything about treating mental illness. Just shut up for once.

So proper diet and exercise plays no role in mental health? We found the fatty folks.

Lol, you dumb dipshit. They can play a role, yet the symptomology of those diseases are remarkably consistent along different cultures. Which is to say that there is a disease process at play, which of course you can't seem to grasp. Nicely done being as dumb as I thought you were. I'm sure your reply will get even dumber.

Just like putting lazy obese slobs on a litany of prescription medications so they can continue their destructive and awful lifestyle isn’t the answer neither is putting people on a litany of psychiatric medications. It’s one reason this country is fricked. You morons think a pill solves everything.

It’s hard to believe that millenials are already in their 40s now. The MySpace generation is almost middle aged.
