My dad has done it multiple times for my mom's birthdays and Christmas. I've never had it done for me or done it myself, though.

No bow but I got home from work one day to find my '81 jeep in da driveway. It scared me, I thought Jody was visiting till da ole lady met me at the door saying Merry Christmas. She had used the money she was saving to remodel the kitchen for it. Needless to say I still have her and the jeep!!

Car commercials that show middle class husband buying his wife a car as a gift is so unrealistic. It's like "Hey honey, as a gift this year I made a huge financial decision without your approval, You might wanna look for a second job, Merry Christmas."
