Anyone Here Do ROTC at TAMU?

My 17-year-old junior is looking hard at it. I'm retired Guard and his sister is enlisted, so the military is in his blood. He has a 33 on his ACT but has some Bs and Cs in his AP classes. He's considered service academies, but I think it would be better for him to have some fun mixed into this college career, ROTC and AM seems like the perfect compromise.
Any advice? Any other colleges in the south have a very robust ROTC program like TAMU?

Not really. Your son is gay. Learn to deal with it, I guess.

He would have more fun at westpoint than with the self-serious core douchers

You do realize that the academies are tuition free.
And they aren't prison camps...

Tell him to enlist first. It’ll pay dividends for him in the long run.

He's doing "spend the night with the corps" soon. Any advice?
Prepare his anus, get a Valtrex prescription and get on PreP (pre-exposure to AIDS meds) ASAP.

Can’t wait to hear about all the “traditions” (lies)

Unfortunately, you posted this on the board with the biggest popluation of asshats on the whole site...so you are going to have to weed through some bullshite to get decent answers.
To answer your question, I don't think any other SEC school has anywhere nearly as strong a military tradition or ROTC as aTm...and I would bet there aren't any outside of the SEC either.
Now, Texas A&M is pretty damn difficult to get into...but may be a little easier for someone from out of state. Of course, if he doesn't get some pretty strong scholarships, tuition may eat your lunch.
I would say that if he has any interest at all in one of the engineering disciplines, and can get in, Texas A&M would be a no brainer and I wouldn't look any further.

Stupid website lied!
But fact... A male adult A&M fan brought a bubble machine to Alex Box the first year they came here in the SEC.
