I wanted to go to a&m when I was in high school to study meteorology.

Visited the campus then quickly prayed the gay away.

He obviously is and you’ve obviously never been to UNG or walked in his shoes (boots).

Your son should look at one of the academies rather than aTm ROTC program. They play fake army in College Station (pretty sure they're one of only a few universities in the country that don't require ROTC grads to enlist).

The corps at aTm is for the folks who couldn't get into the school without it. There are a ton of kids who use that to circumvent the admissions process.

I was in the NROTC unit at Southern and wanted to go to a service academy but couldn't get the congressional nomination. DO NOT SEND YOUR KID TO A&M ROTC. It is literally the worse of both worlds. They take themselves way too seriously (which defeats the purpose of ROTC) so he will get the academy life without the excellent academics and he won't have as much "fun" than he would at another ROTC program. It's like going to Citadel for Retards IMO and I knew kids in it that thought it was a joke.

While at a MU-aTm game years back, i tried to give their yell team the benefit of the doubt, maybe i was missing something.

By halftime, it was clear, they are gay as frick, and i was not wrong about my own assumptions about them.

Had a friend that did. He then spent an entire summer at one of those camps where they pray the gay away

Increased chance of getting a commission, hacks the clock on BRS, tuition assistance, most tech school can be counted for electives. I personally don’t see a down side to it. Ymmv

More information on the University of North Georgia- The Military College of Georgia. Cadets make up at least 10% of the enrollment. They fire a cannon at 7am and 5pm. M-F. They are at the top of the six non-service academies. Entire town of Dahlonega is very patriotic. Can focus on pursuing commission without playing dress-up like at atm or Citadel.

get deployed the day before finals?

it is a great way to do it if you have a goal in mind, I took my son down to the old guard unit a few years back because he was interested in flying and the military, our host had gone the enlisted route and advised against it unless it was your only option. heard that from others as well but you're right about the increased chance of getting a pilot training slot

From my experience, bums take the deployments...... I would NOT suggest Army Guard/Reserve, for the reason you stated.

Do you want a serious answer or are you trolling?

Unless he is prior service, there is no way to do ROTC at A&M without being a part of the Cadet Corps.
