those extra stitches her doctor put in? just kidding!

but in all seriousness, don't get me wrong, I like to go out and have fun, but I don't think I'm going to find my future partner in a bar scene.

I don't think he would want to give up his bar life for changing some diapers and dealing with a sassy 8 year old.

I'm not sure I could ever quit completely, it is just too ingrained within my social life. I do try and not drink M-Weds if at all possible and generally force myself to workout if I know I am drinking later.

probably right, but it can happen, I remarried to a single mom, had the pleasure of watching our daughter grow into an awesome young woman

I’ll go a couple of weeks without a drink, as I’ve aged I'm more about quality rather than quantity.

Beer is mostly out unless I’m traveling.

Good or better Scotch & decent or better wines if I drink around the house or socially.

A touch of Drambuie in the Winter.

I could give it up completely if I had to.

Thank you for giving me hope. And major props to you for stepping up and being an awesome dad to your daughter. She’s definitely lucky.

I don't have existing health issues to notice a difference in a medical sense, but I've cut back on drinking and noticed a lot of positive changes in the way I feel.

The catch 22 is that when I do drink on Friday/Saturday, I get hangover and depression 10x worse than I did when I was drinking all the time.. to the point where I am thinking about limiting myself even on the 1-2 nights I do drink.

I don't think I'll ever be a teetotaler because I really enjoy a nice drink/glass of wine when out at dinner.. and I enjoy exploring spots to get a good drink when I'm out of town. But the decrease in drinking has been far more positive than I thought it would be, and I'm taking note.

Just remember, your daughter is your pride and joy, and you two are a package deal. Hormones/sex are awesome things, but at this point the daughter has to be factored in. She didn’t ask for any of this, so she needs to be at the table. All the best.

Sometimes my wife and I drink a glass of wine with dinner. Lately we haven’t because she is on meds that say don’t mix with alcohol. Helps my blood sugar and weight not to pull in extra carbs. We can take it or leave it.

My last hangover was probably well over 40 years ago. I don’t miss that near death feeling one bit and don’t plan on another. Ever.

We do recover. I'm 19 months sober after 20 years in and out of recovery. Life is far far different and better sober

Funny how this work as half of the people pack on the pounds when they stop drinking. They need that carb fixed as well as just occupying themselves

I went on the wagon this past weekend. Have done it many, many times without any long term success. I am 52 and my weakness is whiskey. I love bourbon and scotch and always seem to have a glass in my hand in the evenings. I honestly believe that it is slowly killing me. I am worried about the shite I can’t see... like my liver and my pancreas and my braIn. Pray for me.
