That first link is atrocious and moronic. Not even giving the second one a page view. TL:DR - Idiot uses method he accuses NDT of doing.

The second link was worse than the first one somehow.

I appreciate what he's done bringing science to the masses... but at the same time, he's a huge tool. I'm no longer a fan.

Damn that is an expensive ticket. $150/person? Not worth my money, no matter how much I like him

Look, buddy -- I've dedicated several years of my life to keeping up with the Kardashians. If I stop now, they'll get so far ahead, I'll never catch back up with them!

Church on Sunday is free and they tell the truth there.

I've never seen or heard the slightest bit or evidence that he's not a very genial and friendly person in real life.

I imaging the people the think he's a tool are the kinds of people that demonize anyone who can eloquently support a position they don't like.

Is that a fact? Just follow his Twitter... he's just another big government liberal spouting off at the mouth. And while I'm not religious, it pisses me off that he's quick to trash Christians and kiss some Muslim butt.

Just comes across as every super smart nerd I have ever met. He just is a little less socially awkward. But if you are looking for an astro physicist to believe the Earths age is 4,5, or 6 digits old? Gonna be an uphill battle.

I'd watch one of his lectures.

I quit caring about this when I realized conservatives were also big government and libertarians will never get elected.

That does suck but I'd still listen to him speak on science.

Watched him speak about the Renaissance. How calculus I believe was started by Muslims. But religion stopped it and Muslims have made zero contributions since. That was 6 or 7 centuries ago.

Wow, two awful links, one of which repeatably calls him a nerd. Sorry if what he says goes over your head, since you're clearly the idiot in this situation.

Are you sure about that? I've listened to him a lot, and he's pretty damn opinionated that the Islamic culture has ruined science and is a bad thing for the world as a whole. Now he's been vocal about praising them during the Middle Ages for their contributions to mathematics and science when the Islamic World was more advanced than Euope's, but he now says that it's a mere shell of itself. Just because he gives them credit for creating algebra (which is true) doesn't mean he's a fan of what they've become.

Wow, resorting to the "idiot" charge in an intellectual superiority argument. What exactly was awful in the first link? The author was pretty much on-point in the 2nd paragraph -
quote:

It’s got to be a pretty sweet gig to be elevated as the personal embodiment of science and the intellect, so that anyone who questions you is presumed to be against these things.
. That's pretty much NDT's method; denigrate those that either disagree with or don't understand your position. In the video he pretty much calls some physicians and religious patients idiots.

And before you think to call me an idiot, I have a PhD in an advanced scientific discipline. The difference is that I'm completely comfortable with the things I've yet to learn and viewpoints that stand in contrast to my own.

Stupid people saying stupid shite like this is why I keep coming back to this board.

It is like a train wreck, you shouldn't look, but you do anyways.

This is all I've heard him say as well. I think I remember him going on a rant once on how much Muslim society has declined, how they've contributed almost nothing to science in the past century, and that only 2 Muslims have gotten a Nobel prize in a scientific category. He wasn't taking up for them at all and said they need to get with the modern age.

Well, it's from the Federalist, which is kind of like linking the Bleacher Report when it comes to sports. It's a biased as hell source.

Well, I mean Ben Carson thinks the world is 6000 years old, and he's a highly intelligent neurosurgeon. The only problem is he's nuts.
