You think a guy who just had an altercation with police officers that resulted in the officers notifying he and the others in the house that they would be back with a warrant.....took a nap? You really believe the Spencer story that he was startled from a nap and started shooting at people? You started this thread with a pre conceived notion that the state was preparing to execute an innocent bystander for murders that he took no part in. The actual trial testimony and facts presented to a jury were added by other posters. You doubled down. Now you are just demonstrating a level of arrogant stupidity by tripling down with the whole nap thing.

They were in the house talking about killing the cops upon their return but Spencer decided that was a good window of time to get a nap in? The low IQ lack of analytical ability in our society is sad and concerning.

The prosecutors offered this guy a 20-25 year plea before trial. His lawyer told him he couldn't be convicted of capital murder for being an accomplice. I don't see how he wasn't granted post-conviction relief based on this.

Umm... because it’s would basically be a get out of jail (or off death row) card, ready made, to be executed any time your client was guilty?

Nothing about being innocent or sorry. Says a lot.

I hope you saved some of that sentiment for the brutally murdered officers, and their families. If they would contemplate murdering police officers, and then carry that out, they certainly would do the same for you and yours if they saw fit.

Whether you agree with the actual execution or not, the man was involved in a crime that led to three officers being murdered, and a fourth being shot. The fourth officer has said that he feels that Woods was behind the ambush of the officers, and that the murders don’t happen without Woods. Even if not executed, Woods was a criminal and not some example of a good person. Don’t glorify him.

I don't know if you understand Alabama law but capital murder is premeditated, you know, PLANNED. He was charged and found guilty as an accessory to 3 charges Capital murder, you know PLANNED, and 1 count of attempted murder. He was found guilty of ALL CHARGES by a unanimous jury. He was recommended to be put to death 10-2 by the jury and the judge complied.

The murder of a law enforcement officer while on duty is capital murder in Alabama, meaning it doesn't need to be premeditated. So regardless of whether or not he planned it, he still was rightfully charged with accessory to capital murder. Not sure what constitutes carrying a death sentence in Alabama, but given the facts that have been outlined ITT as to the proof presented at trial, I don't really have a problem with it.
