My father did three tours in Vietnam in the infantry, nope, nope, nope. But more than that I respect the man.

Hell no. My dad is a retired airborne ranger who did two tours in Vietnam though. I don't think I, nor too many people out there, would survive a physical confrontation with him.

I've been hit by my father, but it was after I pushed my sister out of a moving boat, so I kind of deserved it. But get in a fist fight, no I'm not trash.

Once when I was a teenager. I mouthed off to him and he snapped and beat the shite out of me. He apologized the next day and told me that he was out of line, and I never thought about it too much after that.
What I really took from it, looking back, is that it's very easy to forgive someone who shows genuine remorse for his wrongdoing. My old man crossed the line big time on this one and could have gone to jail over it, but an apology was enough for me, and it wasn't hard to get past.

Never a fist fight but I did once pop my dad in the nuts as a Joke. He hit me straight in the Jaw and nearly knocked me out. I totally deserved it in that I had no idea at the time how bad that hurt. I was 10 and never fricked around like that again.
