Day my pops turned 80, I beat the ever loving piss out of him. Smacked the wad of chew right out his mouth. Old man was too feeble to defend himself.

Once when I was a teenager. I mouthed off to him and he snapped and beat the shite out of me. He apologized the next day and told me that he was out of line, and I never thought about it too much after that.

But did you ever mouth off to him again? I bet you thought twice about stepping that line.

Easier to pull of if your pops doesn't treat you like he's raising a pit bull in a cage always poking a stick at it.

Eventually one might get old enough the next time they get hit with a weapon (not a belt), those pit bull instincts take over and they see red.

I don't condone it though, it sucks. Kids can't choose their fricking parents, & if their parents are psychopaths , they are shite out of luck

Nope, my dad got the bluff in early, but much more than that I carry to much respect for the man to initiate that level of disrespect. Even though at 17 I had quite the size advantage (He is 5'9" 180#'s soaking wet, I was 6'4" 245# DE with D1 preferred walk-on offers) I never even entertained the thought.

No, but only because both my other brothers held me back like 5 Christmas days ago.

He had been really disrespectful to my mother all day, and had been a complete dick to my little brother when he was taking a nap and wanted to get his wireless internet to work and I just flipped a gasket.

Later he apparently told my mom and brother "I would have kicked his arse" and my mom and brother told my dad I would have killed him. My dad is out of shape and old, without that man strength anymore

The man that raised you and cared for you for decades is allowed to have a bad day every once in a while without the threat of his trashy arse son wanting to fight him.

How the hell do you know if he cared about him? News flash: there are dads who only use their kids to beat on, get child support for, & for tax write offs.

Let's quit the illusion that every dad is 1980s Bill Cosby pre-date rape

Nope, no way. My dad is my best friend, I respect the man way too much. That and he would beat my fricking arse. He's about 5'11 200 lbs 52 years old and in just as good shape as he was in college. I've heard too many stories to even give it a half a thought.

My older brother got really mad at him one time for smacking me in the head for something I did that deserved the smack. I saw the look my dad gave him when he started yelling and walking up like he was gonna try him. My brother saw it too and wanted no part of him.

Yep. Wouldn't call them fights though. my dad hit me with a closed fist at 16 when I called my older sister a whore. I deserved that one.

I choked him out after he hit me my freshman year of college. Looking back I can't remember what it was about. Don't think I could ever actually punch my dad in the face though. That man's done too much for my dumb arse.
