Yes... but as part of a larger, more intensive sinus surgery.

I've seen a lot of youtube videos of just the FESS surgery, and it seems like a breeze compared to turbinate reduction and/or septoplasty combo.

I would definitely do it if I qualified. I only get one or two sinus infections per year. I get allergy shots weekly and make sure to take decongestants whenever I have too much congestion to head infection off.

I used to get 4+ sinus infections a year. I was sick of burning all my PTO on being sick so the next time I heard the radio ad I wrote the number down and signed up for it.

I was probably in the office for 2 hours, the first half of it being spent on numbing your nose. You're awake for the procedure but highly relaxed from the meds. Doc even put on pandora for my listening pleasure.

You feel a little pressure from the balloons (which are extremely small) and you can hear the sinus cavities popping as they expand. He said I had one of the worst sinus structures he had seen so I might have taken longer than the typical patient. The worst part was when he was deep inside my nose he bumped the septum with a tool and it felt like someone punched me in the nose.

My nose bled a little on the way home. I went to work the next day with no problem. It was uncomfortable not being allowed to blow my nose for a few days.

Fast forward about 3 years and I don't think I've had a bacterial infection since. Had one or two viral infections. My sinuses now drain as intended and I feel nasal drip in my throat whereas before it would just fester in my nose and turn into a sinus infection. If my allergies act up I can pop a benadryl at bedtime and the next morning I'm all cleared up instead of calling in to work the next day. I recommend it to anyone who is considering. I've struggled all my life with allergy and sinus issues. I've done shots, had other nose surgeries, tried every medicine related to allergies/sinuses and the balloon sinuplasty is by far the easiest and most effective of all the options. Good luck

I had to have some surgery to correct my nose which I broke boxing years ago with the balloon sinus surgery.

The balloon surgery works and it has been a few years no complaints or major sinus problems.

I had it about 3 years ago. I still can hear the sound of my bones creaking inside my face as the balloons would expand when I think about it. It was kind of creepy, but not really painful. Just a lot of pressure. The days after were mostly spent sleeping because of the pain medication.

I also remember still having sinus issues a few weeks later. I'm not sure if the procedure just took a while to help or if I would have eventually gotten better anyway. I think I have gotten some sinus flair ups since then, but I don't think they are as bad as they were before.

it was like day 3 or 4 for me when it really peaked for me. i had nightmares that i couldnt breathe and would wake up with mini panic attacks. the pain was so bad that i couldnt sleep. i remember wakign up at 4 and just sitting on the couch wanting to cry lmao

And when they pull the gauze out a few days later it feels like your brains are being pulled out of your nose.
