I wish! I was shoved full of dis-solvable gauze that didn't completely go away for weeks.

I did only have to have the stints in for 48 hours which was nice because those things suck.

I had the FESS, septoplasty, & turbinate reduction in one surgery. Wow, the recovery sucked. I definitely underestimated it.

I had the stints and balloons in for 5 days. Dissolvable gauze as well.

Did you have trouble getting back into exercising after a few weeks? How long till you could exercise the same or better than before?

MRI or Sinus CT scan?

My guess: they'll likely start you on the steroid rinse with one the bottles pictured above. (Dont forget to use DISTILLED water esp if you are in the south.) FESS & Turbinate Reduction & possibly sinuplasty (depending on the CT scan's results) if the steroid doesn't work.

Again, that's all just a guess. Was I right?

I had a closed reduction for nasal fracture and deviated septum.
ENT held me out of exercise/practice for like 4 or 5 weeks post surgery.

Couple months till I got back to pre surgery levels of fitness.
Lost weight in the recovery because with no sense of smell for weeks, food didnt seem so appealing.

I haven't but some friends have. They said they were back at work the next day. A little sore, but otherwise fine. No packing, not a lot of swelling.

I had the old school Septoplasty and turbinate reduction back in 2000. Worst pain I've ever been in when I woke up from surgery. I woke up wailing/moaning, and within about 30 seconds a nurse was in there and gave me a shot in my arm. A minute later I was unconscious again.

Recovery was awful for about 3 days, but much better after that. I got home from the hospital (outpatient procedure) and made it as far as the kitchen sink before I puked blood all in it. Sleeping was horrible. I had to keep a squirt bottle of water by me because I would wake up with cotton mouth and not able to breathe. I nearly panicked the first time because I couldn't do anything but pour water into my mouth until it wet my throat enough to swallow.

And yeah, when they pulled the packing out a week later, it was a weird feeling. Painful but also a huge relief at the same time. Hurt coming out, but right after it there was no obstruction.

I also had UPPP/Tonsillectomy surgery earlier this year for snoring, and that has helped a lot with some lingering sinus issues. Opened up my airway and now I'm not breathing through my nose as much when I sleep. I would wake up with dryness in my nose and throat most days, and it would be irritated. Now that I'm getting good airflow I wake up rested and don't deal with the sensation that I need to hack something up that isn't really there.

It is much better than when I had it done. They don't use packing anymore. If it is just the septum, you'll be alright. Like I mentioned, mine was in 2000, and I had a cast on my nose and packing inside it.

Did it three weeks ago. Are you just having the septoplasty? I did all three so it would be hard for me tell you how just one would be. As I said earlier, recovery was/is harder than I expected... But I had to do something and this was my last option. Seems to be working much better already, but exercising isn't going well yet.
