It's ok, you can call it what it is. Ghetto.

What rock have you been living under for the past 40 years?

What if I told you that there was a white youngster who called himself “Vanilla Ice” who was a rapper in the 1990’s? [mind blown]

Black fatigue

I prefer to call it ghetto fatigue. As this thread suggests, there are quite a few white folks who act this way. Also, it's offensive to the black folks who don't act this way. But definitely agree with the premise. Most people are tired of this behavior and I think we are currently seeing the pendulum swing in the opposite direction.

Seems like white trash and ghetto culture have merged in rural areas.

Ever read Thomas Sowell? Ghetto culture CAME from white trash culture. The original white southerners came from the trashiest parts of England. While the majority of whites moved away from that culture, a large portion of blacks hung on to it. Now the media says "that's black culture" and any attempt to interfere with it and get them to act right is racism.

I have seen the pendulum swing several times on this. It’s essentially just another teenage social trend very similar to a clothing trend.

Thomas Sowell is full of it.

urban?

or just a general lowering of the bar for American society? because we are definitely lowering standards across the board for just about everything.

I understand the difference between a formal and informal setting. I’m not going to use correct punctuation when arguing with someone else on the internet just like I would when I text.

Funny because I find the w*gg*r archetype to be rare these days.

Black/urban culture isn't as “cool” as it use to be. That's my observations based on interacting with younger family members and their friends.

I don't see it but what I do see are white kids with lifted and squatted trucks with oversized tires, wearing boot cut jeans and Ariats listing to the most gangster rap music that my black arse don't even listen to.

I grew up in the lifestyle and myself, don't listen to the music glorifying it. But the white kids in my upper middle class suburb love that shite.
