Yes, people make bad choices around holidays. I know I'll have at least one firework and/or alcohol related injuries to see on Wednesday.

Agreed. If I don't need to take days like this off, I usually try not to. I'll roll in at 10, leave by 4 and get more real work done than on a normal day. Actually kind of like days like this.

I was off all of week before last, worked 4-10s last week, work 8 hrs today and I'm off the rest of the week. I'm ready to go home now though.

I'm in the same boat as you. However, I always keep in mind that someone else out there right now that's unemployed wishes they HAD to go to work today...
Plus, having three fridays in an 8 day period isn't such a bad thing IMO
