Ordinarily yes. But Easter Vigil they do 1st Communions and Confirmations. At least that’s what they do at my Church.

1st service on Easter is the way to go.

The last Christmas service I took my father to before he died he observed the crowd and when it was a rare quiet moment mentioned to me “sure are a lot of God Damn sinners in here this morning son.”

He was hard of hearing so he spoke rather loudly. I go to church most weeks and every time I’m sitting there I chuckle at that comment and remember the shocked faces of the flock.

And if you don’t go today chances are you will miss out on one the greatest pieces of music ever written and one of my favorites in Handel’s Messiah.

Hallelujah.

Although you go to church almost every Sunday, you’re certainly not paying attention because your post isn’t one of a Christian.

Quoting from the book that less than 10% of Christians have even read? I wouldn't expect him or most to know scripture.

Reverend Ken Carroll. He married me and my wife 30+ years ago. Great guy. We go to his church every few weeks.

No one ever started going to church by not going. Welcome the, for lack of a better word, strangers and smile at them.

My wife and I go to Sunday Mass almost weekly. We probably miss about 15-25% due to work, travel, etc. But we more or less attend when we can, sit in the same pew, etc. Except on Christmas and Easter when the phonies show up and congest the place. Too bad they can't be bothered to do that on other Sundays.

I think you’ve perhaps inadvertently hit on at least one reason why you only see them on C&E. There’s not much uglier than religious pride. It speaks to the spirit of which they probably find very unappealing and don’t really want to surround themselves with and have in their lives. You know, maybe if you wouldn’t judge them so harshly and were more welcoming, then perhaps they’d decide to make it more of a commitment in their lives. Maybe they’d see a difference.

Easter and Christmas the two biggest money making days for those kind of places.
If you give me money and praise me you go to heaven.
If you don’t you go to hell.
Weak minded people are so gullible.
And by the way there will a second collection today!

Virtue signal much?

So quoting scripture is virtue signaling? Would this be true of any moral guidance?

I’m not a Christian but I don’t see how one Christian quoting the Bible to another is somehow wrong. Legit curious as to why this would be a problem in the framework of this discussion.
