I have a stable of flip and spin tricks, so I mostly just drop it on the table repetitively. I do flick the bolt too much as well, frick it though.

A person would wish they had once that ink leak situation happens. Small pocket protector actually kept down in pocket is a very wise investment. Especially if you wear a suit to work often and have the need to carry pens all the time. Pens-->pocket protector-->inside pocket.

Truck driver - I usually wear a Dickies T-shirt with a cheap arse Pentel pen in my shirt pocket. I got extra lame last week and bought a gold Energel pen at Staples.

It all depends on what type of job you have.
I can see contractors carrying pens around, for example. But 95% of professions shouldn't need one.
