Memorial weekend is a good time to buy it’s usually better dealing on trucks and SUVs but the deals right now are pretty good.

Stupidest thing I have read this week. So cash is not the best way to buy stuff. I guess sucking off the finance manager works much better than cash.

Well...you usually don't pay for it until you get the deal you want, so....

The people who say this typically have no idea what a 5k car is in the year 2020.
it could easily get a 10 year old carolla or civic with 120-150k miles, which is about perfect if you ask me

I recently bought a car online,(fj cruiser) flew in and drove it home. I'll never step foot inside a dealership again unless it's to sign paperwork.

I thought about upgrading my current car, but it has several upgrades on it that a dealer won’t apply to current value ( I totally understand).
I would really like to get the higher even faster model (pre-owned), but my car has been paid off and it has low miles so I’ll probably won’t do anything.
I mean why get rid of a great car with no note to spend money on a little better car and have a note?

Bought a brand new F150 STX 4x4 with the 0% for 84.

It promptly hailed a week and two days after driving her off the lot and my truck was sitting outside.

I was driving an extended cab 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500. With the wife finding out she’s pregnant with our first and the truck’s interior beginning to look like a 20 year old truck, it was time.

Bought a Mercedes SUV for the wife a month before all this started. Kicking myself. Paid cash so got a decent deal but could’ve saved a lot of money if I knew this shite was going down.

I feel your pain, brother. I just bought my wife a 2020 Range Rover. Paid cash too but the guy knocked too much off the price, so I added a little back on so he’d make a bit more commission. Wish I would have waited though. I just needed more room for my 6’6 frame and my 10 inch cock. I should have financed because my 970 credit score probably would have locked down a good interest rate.

Looking for a Wrangler rubicon in Dallas. I had to go to 5 different dealerships before anyone was willing to come off MSRP. Two dealerships wouldnt even give me a trade-in estimate. It was weird. They didnt want to sell cars. 5th dealership had the rubicon I wanted and came off the MSRP by 6k. That sales guy said they arent getting any new inventory until September so most dealerships arent willing to negotiate. They’ll just wait it out. So my advice to anyone looking is to shop many dealerships, even though it can be time-consuming.

They’re fine with paying inventory tax on all those cars?

I believe 0% and up to 84 months is only for new cars. Respectfully, DO NOT buy your kid a new car. Think back to your first car . . . . did you scratch it? ding or dent it? maybe have an accident during the process of becoming an experienced driver? make a mistake in maintaining it? delay getting it serviced?

Based on the patterns and mistakes of many teen drivers, save yourself a wad of cash and look for a dependable used car. You, and your wallet, will be happier for it.

No way I would ever do that even if I could afford it

Bought my kid a 7 yo Civic. Spent $6500 and got 4 years out of it. Could have gotten more but he replaced it on his own with a newer model at an affordable price

Does anyone have a good resource comparing 0% financing at a firm dealer price vs. negotiating a lower price and having a low interest loan?

What's the better route in terms of overall cost of the vehicle?

Thanks For all the responses.
Initially, I’m looking to see what you have purchased during the pandemic, way too many options out there.

It’s the same wether she wrecks a new car or an old car. Yes , I’m looking fir a good used car first but not limited to used if the deal is better for a new car.

Yes she will take care of anything that she gets , she’s earned it. Straight A student with 2 years to go. We expect to keep the car at least 10 years ( Knick on wood ).

I think the FJ is a great vehicle.

Thank you to all.

Yes, I have a calculator

Just google loan calculator and pick one. You'll see how much you're paying in interest and can compare to how much more you're getting off the price by not taking the special APR.

Best bet is to go to your bank or credit union and get pre-approved for financing through them. They will beat the dealer's typical rates most times. Then you can tell the dealer "I'm approved at whatever APR already but I'll give you my business if you can beat it." Win/win.
