either i or my wife bought me a mont blanc when i graduated law school, because you had to have one that year or you weren't cool. a friend just gave me a new one last week for for some work he knows i would not charge him for. i like fine tools, but the fear of losing it will limit my use.

got one as a gift a few years ago, gave it to my sister because I knew I'd probably lose it, haven't written with a pen that didn't have the name of a hotel on it for decades

Had plenty of nice pens in the past, but have changed my ways.
Paper Mate Profile Elite is now my go-to. The one exception is if I am going to be doing any outdoor audits in the North during Winter...then I turn to my Fischer Space Pen. Nice to have ink that won't freeze in sub-zero weather.

Pilot Dr. Grip 4+1. Writes amazingly well and has a mechanical pencil and eraser. I buy them on Amazon.

I've had the same Monc Blanc for 20 years. Great writing instrument.

Yep, you caught me.

Parker Jotter the GOAT.
If you order online make sure its the real one from France, tons of knockoffs out there.

Damn. What did I walk into? I was just curious and only figured a couple of people would respond. Little did I know. Didn't realize there was a pen subculture similar to the cooler subculture on the OT board.

I've got a Retro 51 Tornado, but considering adding one of these parkers, they look sweet

Not sure what you call nice, but these are my favorite.

Same here, as well. Some were gifts (Pelikans).

I prefer to write like a gentleman unlike the uncouth cretins I encounter each day. It does take me 3 weeks to write a letter though.

Never Mind - with my dyslexia I misread the subject.

Love fountain pens but rarely buy new ones. Some of the Waterman Phileases and Sheaffer Balance II 's are ok but not near the quality or value for the $ as the antique pens from the '20 s through the '40's, have a handful of old Parker and Waterman and Wahl flattops that are comfortable and smooth - require no pressure to write well. Keep one at the office others at home.
Don't own any Montblancs but have heard that it is common to find counterfeit montblancs on the market.
