I just bought my first “good” pen, a Waterman Charleston rollerball. I like it a lot. I think I’ll buy a fountain pen soon.

I'm able to use some co-op funds to buy pens for myself and people at work. The negative is, yes, they'll be branded with company names but I get nice free pens. She only gave me 2 choices that had room to co-brand I guess: (these aren't our companies, just websites I found with samples of the pens)
Waterman Carene Roller Ball
or
Cross® ATX Basalt Black Pen Set
I have to buy 12 of the Waterman for about $2k or I can do as few as 6 of the Cross sets for about $700. Is the Waterman a no-brainer to get? We have the funds in the account so it's ok to spend but 12 pens is quite a few so I'd be giving them to people who I wouldn't normally need/want to.
But I do want a nice pen for myself and other management so is Waterman the simple choice?

Nice pens are cool but I'v never been able to hang on to a nice pen for more than a few weeks at most without losing it. I buy cheap pens in bulk.

What I don’t like are those all metal gold or silver Cross pens. Somehow thru gifts, etc I acquired about 6 of them. Recently sold the lot of them at a yard sale. Freeing experience!
