I’m sure the bread recall was more to do with why there isn’t much bread on shelves than this storm. How many sandwiches are all of these people planning on eating? In the old days it made sense, nowadays stores and fast food places are open 7 days a week, there will be food to get if need be.

I don't really eat sandwiches at home. Seems unhealthy.

Pepperidge Farm Light Style - 45 calories per slice
Sara Lee Delightful - 45 calories per slice
Nature's Own Life - 40 calories per slice

Fresh cut deli turkey or chicken is like 70cal for 3oz. Light mayo for 35, mustard for basically 0, lettuce, tomato.. maybe a light dressing or Laughing Cow cheese wedge.

~200 cal for a sandwich

Anyway, why is bread sold out? Because it will be raining this week? I went to the store earlier and everything looked fine to me.

I stopped at Walmart in Ponchatoula and it was empty and everything was stocked. I was a little shocked.

It's a 45. If I need more than
8 at once, I'm resorting to beating people to death with it anyway.

A haiku:
45 pistol
Makes real big holes in most stuff
Also a great club

I'm not on a special diet, I just don't understand why anyone would stockpile bread. I understand milk even less... it's disgusting and it doesn't even keep.

Saltines, whiskey, multi-vitamins, drinking water, ammunition, canned tuna... WTF is the bread and milk for?

6 loaves of bread in the store when my daughter went to grab some groceries earlier. We were just out of bread.

I went to the store because all I had was canned tuna at home and didn't want it for dinner. Store was normal, not busy.

Didn't know people were storm prepping until I came home and looked at TD. I've been busy and I don't watch TV, so honestly I didn't know we were getting a storm until today

Last thing I’m worried about during hurricane prep is bread. I don’t need the carbs and nor do you. Empty freezer and grill baw

Bread is one of the worst things to stock up on.

Basically just carbs, not a calorie dense food, and you can't store it long term.

Almost anything else would be better... canned beans, tuna, protein bars, etc.

Where did the “milk and bread” thing start during hurricanes and snow storms?

I can’t remember the last time I’ve drank milk or used it when cooking
