I've owned two houses where a murder took place, one was a rental, the other I lived there at the time.

Friend discovered after moving in that she bought the house of Bobby Joe Burns where he severed his moms head and left it at the church down the street. She said the kitchen had been remodeled but weird things happened while living there.

Pretty sure the person who bought the Jonbenet Ramsey house did this. Now it’s kind of obscured by some trees.

It was very inexpensive for that area in 2002/2003. Can't remember asking price back then.

Was it cheap enough then to tear house down and rebuild?

It seems like her house was pretty close to the street and also closer to Perkins in between 2 stop lights that usually had a lot of traffic that’s wasn’t to create much separation yet, but further west closer to lake on or just off Stanford and then into College Town tearing down or basically building around existing to the point of it looking like a new build was starting to be a thing back then. Going around College Town about 10 or so years after this had some huge differences in the houses including Graves’ house.

Not entirely sure what you’re asking. The house is on the west (left) side of Stanford, and within the first block south of Perkins. It’s an older home, not sure if there’s any restrictions on home builds in the area.

I liked the house the way it still is. Blends in with the rest of the 'hood.

Would have never torn it down. I want to say it was in the 150s or 160s.

Imagine a girl rushing Chi-O at FSU knowing you'd have to live in a house where Ted Bundy went ape shite. All they did was remodel the exterior.

I thought they gutted the rooms in that part of the house so that the “room” where the murders happened didn’t exist anymore.

No, not that sort of scenario, and that's the last I'll speak of it.

It honestly wouldn't bother me in the slightest to live in the home of a murder victim, a murderer, or a house where a murder took place.

My wife thinks this is a weird attitude, but it's not like the house murdered anyone, right?

My MIL did, in fact she bought it at a major discount just after the speedy trial found the wife not guilty of bludgeoning her husband to death with a baseball bat. She admitted doing it.
A granddaughter inherited from them, her husband did a major upgrade and remodeling and about twenty years later it resold as if it had no history.

They did, but still, imagine being an 18yo girl, sleeping in the house where a serial killer played.

Zillow has the house in the OP listed for about 2/3-3/4 the value of those surrounding it.

They tore down the BTK serial killer’s house and he didn’t even kill anyone in it.

I wouldn't knowingly do it. I remember even getting the ick as a young man looking at an apartment that was newly up for lease after an old person died in the bathtub.

I live in a MURDERER'S house.

Seriously, we bought our house from a weird, old dude who was in a biker gang. He went by a nickname and we felt like he had some skeletons but we wanted his house.

We found all his legal paperwork in the old backyard shed. Turns out he stabbed a guy to death in a bar fight in the late 80s, over a $1 bet. He was arrested but it was then overturned on a technicality.

He did show up on our doorstep unannounced one night before a freeze, but he only wanted to suggest that we wrap a certain pipe in the garage so it wouldn't freeze. Pretty considerate for a killer.
