I have a Scotsman and hosizaki in my stores. Scotsman has issues all the time hosizaki rarely ever. I would grade them hosizaki, manitowac, Scotsman in that order on the commercial level. The issues with the Scotsman are often simple fixes but its little things that often shut them down and it’s very annoying dealing with it.

Then you probably just need to buy those dollar ice trays and freeze tap water.

Yes, Kitchen Aid under the counter from Appliance Distributors in BR. Had to have it serviced once in 5 years. Makes the little square cubes.

When it leaks, it’ll ruin your hardwood floors. Best to have the machine in a garage or on a porch. Pain to keep running, but nice to have. Wonderful at deer camp.

Yes, mine is in the freezer and they come out of the door pre-rinsed.

Mine was in already when i bought my house. Come to think of it, I haven’t looked at the brand in a long time.

I was pretty grateful it was already in though.

Doesn’t matter. The little under cabinet ones are almost exclusively made by whirlpool.

The front door may look different but once you open it, they are all the same.

my kitchen aid side by side produces legit ice cubes instead of this crescent shaped ones, and if's built entirely on the freezer door leaving more freezer space and better quality dispensing

My MFing Kenmore Icemaker is not working right at the moment

My Kenmore icemaker isn't working either. I'm never buying another Kenmore appliance because I've always had problems with every last one of them. Not only is my ice maker is broken, but because of poor design regarding the drain, it freezes over and allows the water to build up on the bottom of the freezer which eventually leaks onto the floor. About every 6 months, I have to take the entire thing apart, thaw out the drain to prevent it from leaking all over my kitchen.

Not really. I have a LG fridge and it's always broken. I just buy ice from those machines because I refuse to spend anymore money or time on that piece of shite

Have a Manitowoc with 225 lb daily production that has been there for going on 13 years with not one problem. On thing I've done is clean it a few times. They make excellent ice machines.

Countertop Luma- clear squares with dimples about $200 on Amazon I think maybe a little less.

I've had it for 8 or so months and no issues.

I’ve had the Opal Nugget ice maker for about a year and a half and we love it. We generally run it most of the weekend and fill up gallon size zip-loc gallon bags to freeze for use during the week when we don’t have time (about 3hours) for a batch to be completed. Countertop style and no waterline connection needed makes it easy to use and it does not waste electricity when not in use.

One at my house, one in the barn. I haven't had a problem with either one. I rather have the dishwasher down than the ice machines.

I just ordered a Hoshizaki for my new house today from Katom. C80-BAJ. Looking forward to it.
i am on my second one. Make sure you clean it every 6 months or have it done professionally. Also a filter on the inlet water line is a must. Scale build up is a death sentence for these machines. In fact mine is in the shop right now.

These are in BR area. By the time it’s crated and freighted, you may be better off finding a local used one. These also are way overkill for residential. They’re great for commercial and/or hunting and fishing camps.

I have a large one in my shop. The kind with a huge scoop that will hold 3-4 coolers worth of ice. It's nice but I have to fix it a lot
