Boohoo Slip. You make it sound like having to climb Mt. Everest every other day of the year.

It's 6 or 7 of the best days of the 365 days of the year.

Sack it up.

The pussification of America is in full force.

I have only been to two home games since 1994. I find it better to watch the games on television. I have my popcorn and Diet Coke and my bathroom about twenty feet away. I am not big into tailgating anyway. I would rather lay back in a recliner than to sit on a metal concrete seat.

No parking : no waits: cheaper drinks , easy bathroom access.

I love going to LSU games, but I hate going home when it's over.

My dad had season tickets through 2006. I flew over from Dallas for three to four games a year. He'd get a buddy, or a relative to go down from Ruston with him for the rest. He decided he didn't want to keep making the trip every week. Tried to get me to take over the tickets, but there's know way I could have gotten over for more games.

I drove over to Ruston, and watched the 2007 BCS Championship Game with him on TV. I had Cotton Bowl tickets through 2010 when I moved back to North Louisiana. He came over when LSU played in those. Neither of us has been to a game in Tiger Stadium since 2006. He's 87 now. I go over and watch every game with him on TV. Will continue to do that until one of us isn't around.

Head injuries have taken some of the luster off football both pro and college. Coupled with the fact that you can’t find kids playing football or following the sport anymore due to head injury issue.

I think I need LSU Football rejuveme.
I'm attempting my own version of it. I'm with the OP. I was spoiled growing up where the only way I knew LSU football was attending home games from Stovall - early years of Dinardo. Then, I inherited the seats and did the same all through Saban and Miles. When Coach O took over, I was spent.

And the traffic. The frickING traffic. I am not much of a "go to campus way early to tailgate" kind of person. I go to campus to see the game maybe an hour or two early. And then I'm ready to go home. Used to be, going to the LSU game with that approach was no problem. Not anymore. The bottomline is that you simply cannot get in/out that easy anymore. If you're not set up to tailgate or hangout for a couple of hours after the game, you're screwed.

This season will be season #3 for me not having season tickets. I may or may not attend a home game this year - we'll see. But the simple fact is that I am starting to miss it. Seeing it on tv at home is great for all the comfort. But it's just not the same as seeing it in person. I'm hoping that this "LSU rejuvime" of not going to games is going to make me want to go again one day. I am confident that I am halfway there.

But man, for frick's sake. They have GOT to do something about the goddamn traffic. Moreso than just throwing their hands up in the air and saying "it is what it is". It doesn't have to be as bad as it is. I get that there are thousands of people in a congested area. But again, it doesn't have to be as bad as it is.

It's a PITA going to games. Much rather watch from a house.

nope....I feel exactly the same way. The deal for me is simply negativity of the "fans" that I know will fill the stadium this year. Nothing pisses me off more than to hear Tiger fans booing their own team, and I expect some of that this year. Our fans really ruin the whole experience for me.

I read all the purported reasons why attendance is in decline (traffic, ticket prices, concessions, piped-in music, hi-def television, etc), and I agree they are all good reasons and it's not just an LSU problem. But it's not any one factor more than another.

I’ve seen better complaints in the quad.

lots of trashy people out there tailgating that are not even going to the game.

This is what ruined it for me. If there weren't 50k people out there without tickets the traffic would not be nearly as bad.

Costs have risen exponentially and televisions have gotten way better. Goes for college and the pro football.

I was a ticket holder for roughly 14 years from 2000-2013 with my family. The eye opening moment for me was a florida home game at 230 where they ran out of water by halftime and i literally saw about 4 people in my section alone carted out for heat exhaustion/dehydration. I was in section 211, which are great seats, but with the most outdated amenities i've ever encountered at a top tier college stadium. I ended up looking at the 2nd half on the shaded crowded concourse at a 27 inch box tv and realized wtf am i doing watching the game like this when i could be on my couch in the ac, cold beer, and nice tv. Our section i hear still has the outdated tvs, the same wood concession stands from the 50s run by church kids that have no clue what they doing, and bathrooms that are just awful. Its just not a fun football experience especially for the price per game. I honestly haven't looked back and it was a great decision. The 3 hrs to get back to nola after the game due to br traffic i do not miss. The rest of my fam has been really frustrated with the lack of improvements in our section too and this will be their final year. Sucks, but it is what it is.

I have never been a tailgater. I drive up to the game just in time to get into TS for kickoff.
I've always been impressed by the non-baton rouge fans who can be out there all day on top of the game and drive.

Winning cures all ills. If LSU was back in the hunt, these threads would vanish. I went to Tuscaloosa for the game in November and was envious of the electricity of the environment. LSU used to have that not too long ago. Now we have the malaise of the OP. Shame on the administration for letting us slide so far in the last 5 years. I want the best for O and the team this year, but if they go to the citrus bowl again, then clean house, I say.

I’m waiting for that NO to BR train to revive my spirits. Until then, one or two home games a year. Plus the road openers and if we ever go to UGA again

No it won't. The gameday experience is still a major pain in the arse.

LSU has that exact same atmosphere when Bama comes into town. Don't pretend that Tuscaloosa gets that hype for every home game. This is not a situation unique to LSU.
