As a disclaimer, I am not against getting vaccinations for children and adults (flu shots for adults). But all 4 members of my family got the flu shot this year, and 2 of us have the flu right now. What the frick man?

The reality is, your immune system is poor.

I don't advocate or condemn getting the shot. I did, however, only get it once (2013 or 2014---year of all the ice in BR), and caught the flu days later.

It doesn’t work for all strains. Ask your doctor. Just like Tamiflu. I told my doctor not to waste his time writing the prescription. Ride it out,.

fact - going to a doctors office is 80% certainty you will catch the flu since everyone who has the flu has been hacking and sneezing on every surface and person in that office

eat healthy, avoid being around sick people (that means you leave if they wont leave) and take vitamins and you wont get the flu.

I did not get it and was ill a few days. Doc gave me a zpak and other antibotics to clear it up though.

This year's flu shot is based on last year's flu virus. I don't bother with it. Stay away from kids at all costs. That's the best solution.

do you understand that the vaccine only covers certain strains of the flu???? there are many different types of flu. the vaccine covers maybe 10-20% at best.

Haven't had the flu in 24 years. Haven't ever had the flu shot, and I'm not gonna get one. Track record speaks for itself

zpac does nothing for a virus. it is over prescribed. may cover secondary bacterial infections but not a virus

1) The shot gave you a weakened form of the flu that your body reacted to.
2) The flu shot doesn’t give you instant immunity
3) You have terrible luck

The flu strains mutate faster than the vaccine can keep up.

It's still a great idea to get the flu shot but it's becoming less effective

For the flu? Or a bacterial infection

Z-Pak will do nothing for the flu. Did you have bronchitis or pneumonia?

There are many different strains of the flu you can catch. The flu shot isn't going to cover them all.

They didnt really tell me what it was. I guess they said it wasnt the flu - more so flu like symptoms. It was the VA, so who knows what it was/wasnt
