I have a resting heart rate of 45, my BP is 110/70, I'm 6'1 and 195 lbs of well tuned man with a beautiful blonde beard. I laugh at medicine.

Saw stats last week, 47% effectiveness as measured as only decreasing the severity, NOT as preventing getting the flu.

Last year the shot was only 40% effective, again at lessening the severity, not prevention.

The CDC has given up on "prevention" terminology. So it really is total BS medical providers firing workers for refusing to lessen their severity. Of course anyone, in any industry, should not be going to work and coming into contact with anyone else when they have been exposed to the flu.

According to the CDC's own words, the flu shot only lessens the severity under 50% of the time historically. CDC Avg of VE column 40.81 (VE = Vaccine Effectiveness, which again is severity not infection rate)

Highest ever "effectiveness" = 60%, lowest = 10%

1. I do not have the flu. My wife and 7 year old have it.
2. It's been weeks since we got the shot, so it's not that the shot gave it to them.

So if the shot is simply based on last year's virus and may or may not be effective at all for this year's strain, why is there such a push to get the shot? You would think it was a no brainer the way people push you towards getting the shot. Almost like it's 100% effective protection.

I've been on the side of those saying, "just get the shot and shut up", but this kind of changes my mind on that a little bit.

zpac does nothing for a virus.

This! Had a co-worker sick recently comes back from doc proclaiming it was diagnosed as viral, non contagious, and he was given a Z Pak. Meanwhile he's hacking around everyone and proclaiming it's viral thus not contagious. I wanted to ask if it was the HIV. As the cold inevitably made its way around the office he kept telling everyone to go to the doc and get checked out and come back if it's a virus because that means your not contagious. WTF?!

Saying people die from flu is misleading. Same as saying people die from being fat.

It is a fact that flu viruses change.
There are three going around.

Three.

If your vaccination was for type b, you could still get type a.
If your vaccination was for h1n1 and you caught something else that explains it.

Repeat after me, there were 3 main kinds of flu and I don't know which ones I was immunized against. And they change a little.

Flu shot is a scam. Haven’t gotten it in 12 years and haven’t had the flu since I last got it
