Are you having an issue with excessive oil consumption? If so, what has the dealer or mechanic said about it?

Owned a 2007. 4cyl

No appreciable loss of oil

we did go through two AC compressors (pissed about that)

also replaced front wheel axle&hub assemblies after 150K miles (normal wear and tear)

I drive an 07 Scion tC, which uses a Camry engine, and it does burn oil fairly fast. It is a very common issue among these cars.

If it uses more than 1 quart every 1,000 miles Toyota will consider it excessive and repair the problem. Schedule an oil consumption test with the Toyota dealership to see if your camry meets the excessive use guidelines.

Info from Toyota

Subject: Limited Service Campaign (LSC) ZE7
Enhanced Warranty Coverage for Excessive Oil Consumption on the following vehicles..

2007-2009 Camry
2007-2011 Camry Hybrid
2007-2008 Solara
2009 Corolla
2009 Matrix
2006-2008 Rav4
2007-2008 Scion Tc
2008-2009 Scion Xb

In Toyota's continuing efforts to ensure the best in customer satisfaction, Toyota is launching a Limited Service Campaign (LSC) ZE7 to repair excessive oil loss (consumption).

My wife has one, it's a piece of crap.

I've put 4 qt of oil in it in the past month, it's not leaking so it must be burning it.

If she wasn't such a pain in my arse I'd buy her a new car.

You probably qualify for free engine rebuild from Toyota.

Several Toyota vehicles are having this issue now. Just saw posting on the same issue with the Gen3 Prius (2010-2015).

2010 Camry V-6. No unusual usage - was this mainly on 4 cylinder engines ?

The Mrs has a 2002. We still have it, 186,000+ miles but it has always gone through oil like mad.
