All I know is the part in "Still Fly"where it goes: "Then I heard BOOM from the amplifiers" is fricking great with a good system. The whole song is awesome but thats something else with big subs.

Over my limited experience in life I have found Bose car audio to be a love it/hate it thing. I have heard its top tier, and some people have claimed its the worst they have heard!

I love mine, my wife had it in her '09 Acadia, and now in her '19 Traverse. Maybe I'm just older now and that type of stuff is just not that important to me anymore.

Lord knows when I was younger, that '91 Blazer had a kick arse after market system as well as my '80 Supra I had in high school.

Funny how priorities change as you get older, and money becomes a different animal when others depend on you.

I used to have top notch sound systems in my car in the 80s and 90s until they kept getting stolen.

Not necessarily with newer vehicles. Their "kit" including the Maestro to replace the head unit in my old 2015 F-150 was a total wreck. I figured since I was just messing with the head unit and not running power, etc., I could handle it (I was a car audio understudy 20+ years ago.) Wrong. I finally put my dash back together after about two or three hours (all I wanted was CarPlay). Ended up taking it to an audio shop and getting the install done for $200 during a long lunch.

For a basic audio upgrade to a 2022 Super Duty with B&O speakers, I got quoted $12,000. That's not a typo.

Here’s the wypipo version

Sometimes she runs, sometimes she don't
More than once she's left me on the side of the road
The older she gets the slower we go
But there ain't nothin' wrong with the radio
She needs a carburetor, a set of plug wires
She's ridin' me around on four bald tires
The wipers don't work and the horn don't blow
But there ain't nothin' wrong with the radio
I've got sixteen speakers crossin' my back dash
A little bobbin' dog watchin' everybody pass
Dual antennas whippin' in the wind
Lord, there ain't a country station that I can't tune in
She ain't a Cadillac and she ain't a rolls
But there ain't nothin' wrong with the radio

No car stuff but I spent Saturday upgrading my system in my boat. Added some JL Audio 8.8" speakers and a new JL Audio M400/4 amp to drive them.

Best sounding boat speakers I have ever heard. I added them to my current set up of a 10" sub and 6, 6 1/2" JL Audio M6's.

I am already looking for a place to add another set of the 8.8"and a amp. Just cant find the space.

I'd say that it's a hobby of mine as well, but not to the depth of technical detail I'm confident that you have based on your response

Obtuse1 always has some great info on Audio stuff. I have some of his posts bookmarked for when I start to build my home audio system at the end of this year. Just waiting for them to finish the house.

I may not understand a lot of his info but it helps.

My '15 Silverado came with the GM Bose system, sounds just as good as any aftermarket system,

No it doesn't.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it sounds just fine for most people. But audio junkies would swap all of that out if they bought a vehicle with it.

I'm over 50 and still love crystal clear sound with a solid bottom end. I call it listening bass, not show-off bass. I don't know how to install any of it though so OP, I won't be much help to you. I had 2 pair of Focal K2's put in with a JL 8 under the back seat in my F-150. Nothing drastic but it's super clean.

I remember listening to an audio junkie bragging about his sound setup in his Dodge Stratus and spending his re-enlistment bonus in order to get it to sound right.

Havent had a system in my vehicle in almost 20 years. My boat however is a different story.
