When my cousin runs out of his fibromyalgia medicine, he’s nauseous, has cold sweats, diarrhea, can barely get out of bed. It’s such a debilitating disease and these doctors and pharmacists are so tight fisted with giving him the medicine he needs just to live

I was recently diagnosed with severe sleep apnea.

How severe?

Over 30 = severe
Over 70 = dang
Over 120 = are you the undead?

#1 Do not take meds!
#2 Get a real sleep test (like overnight hooked up to a gazillion wires)
#3 Have them test with BOTH Cpap and Bipap

Check back in with results and I can give some feedback

Sorry to hear that, man. I know doctors & pharmacies have made getting pain meds harder due to govt pushing down on them. My dad has a ton of back, knee, and neck issues and takes Oxycodone. It's been difficult at times for him to keep getting his script, even though he's pretty much debilitated without it.

I had a very well thought out response full of vv helpful information to share with you, and I accidentally deleted it all.

But ftr- OSA isn’t just a fat person’s disorder. Skinny ppl can have it too.

And you’ll need to make sure you wear your CPAP anytime you are asleep. Not just at night. So if you nap during the days- wear your CPAP.

There are different size masks that you can choose from - so you’ll have something that is comfortable for you when you’re sleeping.

And you’ll feel a lot better soon after using it.

Oh and - lay of the meds. Jk

Damn, didn't know it could be that intensive. I did an at home sleep study. I was only told that I have "severe" sleep apnea, I don't recall them giving me a number. What do the numbers correspond to?

I'm finally getting a proper one set to my needs.

I've had two before, both bought second hand. They worked and helped and I made do (insurance at the time didn't cover) but now I've met my deductible for the year and my insurance covers.

Excited to have an actual consult and proper stuff

It was a fricking bitch....probably the worst pain I've ever been through.....my recovery was a little longer but I swear I didnt get out of bed or eat anything for 5 days straight......I had to go back bc of some complications but thankfully the antibiotics took care of those

I'm not sure if your surgeon told you this, but my insurance (Blue Cross) considered the uvula removal a cosmetic elective surgery. I asked, "Who the hell cuts out their uvula for cosmetics?"

Surgeon replied,"Porn stars."

So he let his scalpel "slip" to save me some money.

Look I am a big dude and 50mg made me feel like I was on meth, if that's what being on meth felt like. I can't imagine anything higher than that.

You should try 30mg instant release adderall then

Also...it's not because I'm overweight. I'm 6'1 and 185lbs

6'1, 185 is right on the border of healthy weight/overweight on the BMI chart.

So you are just listening to what the sleep study clinic and CPAP machine company told you, that you have severe sleep apnea and you havent actually discussed your numbers with an actual sleep Dr or sleep specialist?

Slim people can get it. My sister weighed 104 pounds and she had sleep apnea. She has since gained weight, but we won’t go there! lol

It was a sleep doctor who ordered the sleep study. I haven't heard from the CPAP company yet.

ETA: Apparently everyone on the OT is a fricking doctor, I never knew.

i mean it doesnt take a doctor to figure that ingesting effectively ~60mg of adderall (a schedule II narcotic) everyday is going to have an impact on your sleep
