It was a sleep doctor who ordered the sleep study. I haven't heard from the CPAP company yet.

and he didnt discuss the results with you? Do you have the report?

Did you do 1 night study or a 2 night study?

Misconception. If you truly have ADHD amphetamines just put you to bed. I struggle to stay awake when I take my dose.

But give me a depressant like an opioid and I'm wired for sound.

for a sleep aid I have found properly dosed gummy bear is a far better sleep/pain aid than tramadol or other opioid

I fought getting one but the wife was sleeping in other rooms because of my snoring and choking. Struggled a little with it for one night, and then calm sleep every night since. I use to go home and take a nap at lunch, then another when I got home at the end of the day. I may take one short nap a month now.

My friend refused to get one and was the terror of our fishing trips. His argument was, "No one ever died from snoring." I told him, "Yes, they do. It's called dying in your sleep."

Get one

What do the numbers correspond to?

If memory serves, it is how many times you stop breathing in an hour

60 / 30 = stop breathing every 2 min
60 / 120 = stop breathing every 30 seconds

I did an at home sleep study.

Insurance companies are cheap, this is something where cheap is not the best for you. Like stool test you do at home can miss cancer 20% of the time, and say you have cancer when you do not 20% of the time. In the hospital a real doctor looks up your arse for 100% accurate test.

Costs more and insurance want to go cheap, but I would not go to Vegas if 20% I would come back as a corpse.

I'll call tomorrow and ask for it along with a more detailed report.

I'm new to all of this so I was just going with what the doctor suggested. Didn't think, or know to, ask for an in-clinic sleep study to be performed. Depending on what they give me when I ask for the more detailed report and what I hear from the CPAP company, I might insist on a sleep study to be performed in clinic.

Appreciate the advice.

No, doctors often prescribe a primary (Vyvanse) and then a "booster" (Adderall) in the afternoon to cover the period where the primary begins to wear off. It just happens to be that my doses are higher than a lot of people because I metabolize it so quickly. I monitor my heart and have never had an issue. I've been on this for over 15 years.

My symptoms are extreme daytime sleepiness regardless of how much sleep I get, waking up throughout the night, morning headaches, loud snoring, etc. It's not difficulty falling asleep. Adderall isn't known to cause any of the symptoms I'm dealing with.

A friend said the same thing

Went from 60 to 95 to 120 in 2 years. Since he did the overnight at the hospital (or specific places) he is much better (and alive) so my guess is he got over not thinking a full blown study was worth it tho his insurance company was pissed at coughing up the coin.

He is still alive as I type this.

Had another friend who was not told about a bipap (for some it works when a Cpap does not). It only cost him a leg in the process but he is still alive as I type this.

Had no idea sleep apnea could be life threatening...and how could it cause someone to lose their leg??

Sleep apnea means you literally stop breathing.

You know what happens when you stop breathing, then you go into cardiac arrest?

You tend to die

Why are you taking two different types of amphetamine?

Sounds like narcoleptic syndrome.

Regardless Adderall in the afternoon could absolutely contribute to sleeplessness at night. Take it in the morning.

Yes, but I thought I read that after a certain amount of time your brain will automatically wake you up so that you resume breathing, hence the wakefulness throughout the night? Is sleep apnea a neurological disorder?

Or more specifically, are you guys referring to other forms of sleep apnea? Because I was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea.
