I am applying for a job in Melbourne and thought right now is as good a time as any.
My son is obsessed with surfing and the wife loves the beach. Thank you for your responses.

Aussie women love American men, so I would say its a fine destination.

My grandmother does. It’s nice enough, but the water kind of sucks and is a bit on the trashy side

I would love to live in Australia. Seems like such a cool place with people most similar to Americans.

Didn’t live there, but I worked for a Titusville company for 4 years. Worked up and down the coast. It’s nice. It’s Florida though. Like reality is just a little bit off. You can see it, but no one else around you can. I just kept my mouth shut so I wouldn’t be outed.

This is a pretty good description. The further north you go from Jupiter FL, the more redneck you get, but you also have a weird mix of midwesterners and big city northeasterners. It makes for some colorful news stories for sure.

I travel (or used to before pandemic) to Melbourne twice a month. Vierra is the place you'll want to live in if near Melbourne. Or Palm Bay.

I can live anywhere in the US I want and I choose to live in Cape Canaveral - weather is great all year, relatively low cost of living, casual lifestyle, fresh seafood, and an increasing number of rocket launches are stimulating the local economy.
But, I would not want to live on the mainland, or even Merritt Island - the barrier island communities (Cape Canaveral, Cocoa Beach, Satellite Beach, Indialantic, Melbourne Beach) all benefit from the ocean's ability to moderate the temperature. In the winter, the barrier island will be 5 - 8 degrees warmer than the mainland and in the summer we will be 4-6 degrees cooler. The ocean is a great radiator of its water temperature.

Great surfing around there. I’d look in the indiatlantic area if I were you. I’d actually like to move up there from palm beach county. More laid back and cheaper.

Underrated area
Can find a nice house with screened in pool and not crush your budget.
You have many places to get beach access on A1A(beachfront avenue), merrit island is nice, satellite beach, etc
Lived in area for 2 years, would recommend

Really nice golf course there, and we would catch spring training games at the stadium they have there in Viera
