Had back pain for about 6 weeks, gonna go get some X-rays soon. Signs seem to point to a disc issue. I did some heavy lifting when clearing out a tree in my front yard, which I think is what started this whole mess.

I have a constant tightness in my lower back.
Getting out of bed or off the shitter isn’t the something that feels great. Any move in the wrong direction and I’ll feel it worsen a bit. This sucks.

I've dealt with it for 25 years

3-4 shots, one surgery

I've just learned to live with it

Just now fully recovered from an L4-L5 fusion. I'm completely pain free and will be playing golf next week for the first time in a year.

Yep. I've had disc and back issues since I was a teenager. It will likely never be right again. The older you are, the worse it will be. They will probably give you a steroid shot and tell you to come back. If it persists, you will eventually get an MRI to see what the real issue is.

Find a good massuse...really do resaearch and try to find someone who knows their shite from a physiological standpoint and not just someone who lights incents and rubs. Also, find a good chiro. I was skeptical for the longest time about them, and it may just be loosening you up and increasing range of motion slightly, but it did wonders for me when I had the lower back pain you're describing. I hurt myself bending down and lifting too much...hurt to get from sitting to standing....1 massage and 2 visits to the chiro later I feel better than I have in awhile.

ETA: If it's not a disc issue of course. I had the same pain your describing and was not a disc issue

I had 2 herniated disc's in my lower back 11 years ago. So bad I could not tie my shoes. Went to the doc, narcotics and surgery recommended, heck with that. Went to the chiropractor and then started yoga 3 weeks in. After 6 weeks pain gone and flexibility back. Chiropractor told me if everyone did yoga from an early age he would be out of a profession.

Have disc issues in my lower back and neck, including one disc in my lower back that is completely gone. Will eventually have surgery to either put in a prosthetic disc or fuse, but I'm delaying it as long as possible given the ages of my children. Though they're common, steroid injections do nothing for me and the nerve burn caused 100X more problems than it fixed. It's really hit or miss depending on the physiology of the person and what the problem is.

Got a couple of bulging lumbar discs, and they remind me of their condition probably an average of 1x every year. Usually when I do something strenuous, but it has happened from just reaching down to grab something.

Severity is from 7 to 9, and it makes life miserable for a few days. I can get comfortable in one position, but when I move, it hits again. Usually, rest and a heating pad make it bearable, then a few days later, it's gone. Oh, and a steady diet of muscle relaxers makes me not GAF, so there's that.

I assume it's nerve impingement, and I could probably get a burn or whatever. But, it's not worth the energy to get that done when it's completely asymptomatic except for maybe a week every year or so.

Careful in the morning, your discs are swollen and most vulnerable. Use your upper body to push yourself up (hands on knees) to take pressure off your back during morning routine.

Hanging from a pull up bar and sinking your hips can provide temporary relief.

Youtube for some other rehab stretches/exercises. It will help

Acupuncture is the way to go. Really helps with the pain. And also with any arthritis you might have in your spine.

It will not cure or heal any physical deformities, but also is not as risky as chiropractic sessions.

I have been cautioned against using a chiropractor for my neck and spine.

I had lower back tightness for some time, but it was always in the lower back. A while back it started to hurt down the back of the left leg pointing to a bulging disc. Was very uncomfortable to just sit at a desk. Doctor had me stopping working out for 6 weeks and taking steroids and anti-inflammatory meds. That worked slightly until the prescription was done.

Saw a PT who is a weight lifter and he suggested that increased mobility and activating the proper muscles would help to relieve the imbalance that causes the spinal compression.

I'm squatting and deadlifting more than I was before the pain and have been pain free for several weeks. I'm just very mindful to do things correctly. If my range of motion limits my ability to do something correctly, I adjust such as deadlifting from blocks so that I don't end up bending at the back under load. In the meantime I work on my range of motion and get better and better everyday while getting stronger at the same time. Still no pain.

It's only been a few weeks, so this may be short term, but I'm super excited about this going away.

Good Morning To Tony Armstrong, Who Just Uttered The Phrase ‘Bulging Dick’ On Breakfast TV

Australia’s husband Tony Armstrong has finally said what we’re all thinking: “Bulging dick.”

It all happened so quickly as Armstrong was giving the sports update on ABC News Breakfast on Tuesday morning.

“To cricket news, and Tim Paine is set to undergo neck surgery but medical staff remain confident he will be fit for the Ashes,” he said.

“Paine has a bulging dick that has been, bulging disc that has been – that’s a funny one – causing him pain in his neck and left arm and the injury hasn’t responded to treatment.”

I had disc degeneration in my neck. I was taking 3-4 Vicodin a day. Tried therapy, neck extension with a weighted bag hanging over the door, injection until once they hit a nerve with a needle in my neck and my entire left side went numb. It got so bad that if I sneezed I went to my knees. Pain got to be unbearable Finally had surgery, two level cervical fusion. Now have a plate and 6 screws in my neck. Best decision I made. 13 years later, no issues. I tried to put off surgery but I had to do it. Good luck to you

I am 71 and I have severs tightness and pressure in lower back. I am unable to stand still for more than 60 seconds. X Rays show 80% blockage in L6. Only cure is surgery, only relief is shot in tailbone area that lasts about 30 to 60 days. Unable to have surgery at this time due to all the fools who did not believe in the vaccine and are now fighting for their lives from Covid in Houston area hospitals

Have a herniated disc on L4 L5. Was killing me so bad about this time last year I though I would need surgery. Pain finally started to go away after about 3 months.

You will probably get 100 different remedies recommended. You kind of have to find what works best for you.

What helped me a lot was stretching, and elevating my legs with a big wedge pillow when I sleep. I no longer sleep on my stomach.
