Had no kids and was in the middle of recession so assets were f'ed and in any event I kept everything intact. Was like a really bad breakup, except my own divorce atty ended up being a train wreck. I could write a book about him. I did all my own work and he kept the entire retainer, borrowed my truck and got shot at in it. That's just the start of the Barry Zuckercorn experience.

Meh, it wasn't too bad for me. Uncontested, no children, real estate or anything else difficult to divide. Cost me a grand (years ago).

Okay good. That's what I was wondering.

Lost everything but the ex moved to Austin became a worshiper of Mother Gaia and huge Obama fan. She's now mooching off of relatives.

There is no way in hell you guys didn't marry a ton of red flags. No way these woment just up and turned crazy overnight. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Prenup was worth it. Walked away with no losses except what she stole. Lesson learned= prenup is necessary to protect any/all assets.

Of course.
Mine tried to get alimony.
Failed. I moved back to Monroe from Colorado.
Haven't seen that trash since and life has been so much better.
Praise God for divorce.

My thoughts exactly. When reading these divorce threads there is never any accountability by the guy for putting on ring on the fingers of these chicks. This also goes for women who are always ragging on their ex's. They either didn't date long enough, overlooked the red flags or both and that's on you. Only one guy in this thread wishes his ex well. Not to be a dick but people need to choose better partners.

Well, I didn't want to get divorced, but ultimately it didn't cost me much other than her emptying out our bank account.
Luckily for me, my house was still in my name only, so I got to keep it.
I moved on and am happily married again.

You are correct.
I was very fortunate my stupidity and yoing desire for some good looking poon didn't cost me more.
I have yet to remarry although I have been in some relationships. I am respectful and haven't changed except for being patient and allowing time to show if she is crazy or not.
And I have yet to meet one I would come close to marry except for one. But, we went separate ways anyways. Good girl.
Too many men marry without vetting. Women don't vet. They don't have to. They vet your bank account and ability to make their lives easy. Who you are doesn't meant shite--that is all just talk.
If you can bank roll and yet still an addict they will take you. As long as you don't just abuse them or their kids to death you are a take regardless.

I'm hoping I read this wrong. I read it as you're happy you don't have the wife or the kids in your life anymore. I'm hoping it's really you have the kids and the wife is out. You're a shite dad if it's how I originally read this.

Crazy arse ex was stealing money from me, taking out loans in my name. Caught her cheating on video, judge in LP gave me the home, no alimony and minimal child support even though I pay 100% of anything our children need. Hate writing her those checks every month because our kids live with me 100% of the year. Figure it's best to just write those checks instead of bringing this shite back in front of a LP judge who almost always sides with the woman.

Still care s lot about my past failed relationships. Way to much stuff to discuss here but I've split from a couple of really awesome women and there is good and bad. Funny I cant remember the bad much anymore.

Just a guess but I'd imagine that his lawyer from the paleozoic period was a tad bit more primitive than the caveman. LOL
