My only thing I have to add to this thread is that I worked at a nice apartment complex in the burbs fresh out of college, and I can confirm that newly divorced women like dick.

Try starting over at 50+. A real re-learning curve. But it is doable, and with a good woman, it is easier than you would think.

Play your cards right and your kids will love you just as much and you get to be kid-free every other weekend.
It sucks sometimes but you will love it other times.

ironic that when people get divorced they change a lot of behaviors that were supposedly the root causes for the divorce, it's like, why couldn't you fill in the blank, while you two were married, and sex is a big one

They wanted sex then, too. They just didn’t want it with their spouse

How could it be "positive" in any way.
well for one, my ex had a wreck with both kids in the car drunk as a skunk. (she would start drinking as soon as her feet hit the ground)
so yeah, i have the whole 'saved my kids' lives' thing going for me.

Father-in-Law had that happen. MIL had enough of his shite and left him for a previous flame
He upgraded to a 28yo tech executive. They are the oddest but perfectly functional couple I have ever seen.

Got a completely gutted/remodeled/expanded house for a steal because ole baw got caught with his side piece by the (now ex) wife. Dude had to sell the house at a massive loss compared to what he put in to it as part of the divorce.
So divorce is awesome I guess?

Financially no. Cost me tens of thousands of dollars. She got the house, i get limited custody because i had to move for work, pay $1600/month in child support plus 75% of all additional expenses. Took over 2 years.
In every other way possible, yes. I'm free of that insane women and her crazy mother.
You know why divorces are expensive? Because they're worth it.

this is how whacked my ex was, we had a house on the water in so. fl. that we bought under market value, appreciated by approximately five times in under five years, I had people constantly making offers, when the divorce was inevitable, and she's bitching about needing money, she sabotaged about 4 deals to sell the house that would have been without realtor fees, judge finally forced "us" to list with a realtor and when the house sold we(I,) paid $96k in realtor fees, and the whole ugly process was permeated with examples like that, literally tried to sabotage and destroy everything because she could not have it all

He doesn’t practice anymore. He was semi-retired but did it to me as a favor.

I don't know about "positive" but was so long ago (31 yrs) with no lingering effects (kids) so that now it's like it never happened.
