I'm really stuck between a 3.5EB with 3.55 or 5.0 with 3.73. I'm going to put 200xxx+ miles on it (the plan anyway) so maybe the v8 is a better option?

I have a F150 V8 and the wife has an Expedition with ecoboost. she gets better mileage and her suv can run circles around my truck. I have no idea about the longevity of the engine yet.

Family member has a 5.0 with the 3.73 rear that has 210,000 on it, drives from Lafayette to Baton Rouge almost every day. I'm a huge ecoboost fan but if this is your plan put your mind at ease and get the 5.0, it's proven

I have a 2013 King Ranch with ecoboost and 58K miles

I'll probably be selling/trading it in a few months

Croaka, why will you be selling your truck in a few months?

I recently bought a 2015 3.5 Ecoboost and i'm amazed. Was always a chevy man before. This truck is in a world of it's own, literally.

I had 2013 with 95.490 on mine no issues.
June and July I towed 5,000 lb trailer a few times in the mountains of New Mexico and Arizona did ok.

In June got 2015 with 2.5 L ecoboost and so far so good knock on the plastic console for good luck.

My V8 does 24 at 65. Mileage wise, ecoboost is a sham...power wise, it's solid. We may see the mileage spike once they introduce the 8 speed trans though.

I have a 13 Ecoboost. GREAT motor IMO for someone that uses a truck like it should be used. Hauls my boats/trailers better than anything I have driven and is quiet but will burn rubber at any second. I'm approaching 80k with no issues whatsoever. In the next year or 2 I'm hoping to upgrade to a newer body style but will stick with the Ecoboost. I can't argue about the MPG because my truck isn't exactly stock.

i have a 2012 F150 3.5 ECO with 63,000 miles on it. It seems to be holding up pretty well, like a lot of the others i worry about the engine lasting long term. I also get 17-18MPG running around town. i have only taken 2 trips since i've owned it and got around 20MPG.

The power of the eco boost is awesome. Towing my dad n laws tractor is a breeze.

My wife's brother has a 2013 5.0 and the 3.5 that i have seems to handle the load of the tractor a little better then his 5.0 does.

The 5.0? What rear end?

Here's my question. If I get an f150 I plan to put 33" tires and am looking for the most fuel efficient setup because any of the motors win have plenty of power to pull what i need.

I've got the 3.55 with locking rear diff. I didn't notice any considerable loss in power with my 35"s. I'll be driving to Kansas for New Years and I'll try to get some numbers.
