I have MES30 and use it once a week.
Cons - Out of the box, it was OK.
Looking back its kind of concerning that I had to not use some main features of a brand new smoker. Firstly the two thermometers... one for inside temp and second for meat probe, have questionable accuracy. Along with the inside thermometer accuracy comes some stability issues at maintaining consistent temps. Example: you set temp to 250 degrees and it will float between 230 and 260. This is just something you have to work with. Also speaking of temps, the MES will not do high temps needed for poultry. You will need to finish on a grill for crispy skin. You will need to add third party meat probe thermometer... preferably remote.
Stock smoker tray nets you about 30 mins. Aint nobody got time for dat. AMZN smoker tray is a must and gives you 12 hrs smoke time.
MES30 is a tad small. I use the bottom grate for 12×12 disposable drip pan. That leaves three smaller grates for food. If I could do it again, I would go MES40.
Pros - Good circulation, good seal, good quality for decent price. With third party thermometer and AMZN tray, its a truely set and forget setup. A 12 hr boston butt requires 5 minutes of your time, when you wrap it to stop the bark while getting to final temp. I love my MES30 and so does my family. My picky toddler wont eat meat unless its smoked.

Master built 30” electric with the cold smoke attachment if you don’t want to build anything.
I have small kids and don’t have time to mess around or tend a fire all day.

I would second this but go with the 40". The extra room means not needing to cut ribs in half or cutting down a packer brisket. Also, not all MES are built alike. I believe old version 1 and version 2.5 are the best.

I am thinking of investing in one. Can it cook a good brisket? I see Masterbuilt 30 inch is on sale so considering pulling the trigger
Take a look at how you add pellets to the smoker. My buddy had a Masterbuilt and I hated it. It did a good job except that the hopper that you use to add pellets was really little so it only held enough for about an hour. We were forced to constantly add pellets which meant no overnight smoking. Otherwise it worked well, so if you just want a small amount of smoke flavor it would work fine.

haul this behind my lifted F-250 Platinum at all times. Yeah, it may block the view of my truck nuts, but it's worth it, especially during a turnaround.
Weak sauce baw. I just bought me one of these

char broil simple smoker
does a nice job for basics, easy to deal with and control, but it is no substitute for real fire

Yes, one of my best purchases.

The egg’s strengths come from the versatility and the ability to do so many different things. I’ve literally had my egg over 1,000 degrees. I have the burn marks and the pictures of singed eyebrows from when I thought the fire went out but the thermometer was back up to the 0 degree mark.
From the stir-fry to the paella to the 4 minute cooked London broil, the egg is by far the best kitchen accessory I’ve ever had hands down. There is a reason the people who get them become obsessed with them.

Get a pellet grill. Specifically a RecTec. It’s easily the best electric smoker. It’s solid stainless steel, perfectly holds temp without you having to constantly add chips, and you can control it all from your phone. My wife got me a RecTec for my birthday and she said it’s the best thing she’s ever bought

Get a 40 inch. I bought a 30 in Masterbuilt and I love how well it works, but it’s a bit cramped. Have to slice a slab of ribs in half to get them to fit. Also, the windowed version is a waste. Smoke clouds it up so you can’t see in anyway. But bottom line, if you want good smoked meat without all the work, electric is a good option, even if you go for the 30 in.

I've had and still have an electric smoker. I've got a primo also, I love the electric smoker for smoking pretty much anything if you don't have the time to babysit a fire.

I borrowed a buddies traegar for probably 6 smokes and I really liked it.
Pellet smokers are really cool. Not necessarily the best smoked flavor, but very consistent and the flavor is more than adequate. The look of the meat is great, awesome smoke ring.
As far as Ribs go, pellet smokers do awesome. Pork butts turned out great but I have had more smoke using sticks/charcoal.
Best thing about pellet smokers is that you can get them up and smoking in a few minutes and then basically just wait. You will use it often because of this.
Can’t comment on true electric smokers, but pellets are electric powered that burn wood pellets for fuel
I think each type of smoker has a different purpose depending on desired result
