I post this in every weight loss thread.

You should start by changing your relationship with food. Your mindset should be Eat to Live, not Live to Eat. Only buy things at the store that are nutritious, not just calories. Stop drinking sugar filled sodas, replace them with diet sodas, and even then conservative use. Use a special occasion, like birthdays, parties, etc. to “cheat”. And maybe Sunday breakfast and game day foods. It’s not a diet, it’s a lifestyle.

Then, find a good workout group. Like CrossFit or those new Bootcamps popping up. You’ll find that you’re holding yourself accountable more so than you would by trying to workout by yourself.

Don’t use your scale as your success rating. Use your waist size instead. Use the weight increases in your workout as a measure for success.

Fighting a stomach bug over here. Can't keep anything down and getting close to needing an Urgent Care visit for dehydration. OTOH, it seems to be working pretty well for weight loss.

It's really not that easy. More factors than that but I'm sure you come from athletic privilege and cannot relate to the struggle. #NoMuscleNoFatBurn

I hope “athletic privilege” was a great troll.

If it’s not you need to reevaluate how lazy you are

That's true, but as soon as you start eating burgers, pizza, and chicken nuggets again you'll gain it right back next week.

Oldguy (69) checking in.

We did low carb for a few months. We've slacked off but we've cut most pre-made foods. Cook from scratch. Helps a lot. 188 down to 165 and holding. We do Classical Stretch with Miranda on TV maybe 4 mornings a week. Feel great.

What is with CLEAN food? Stupid term. Meaningless. What, do they roll Swiss Rolls in dirt before packaging? Dumb.

Low carb as you're doing is the most tried and true. If you can do carnivore go for it, you'll feel great.

Congrats!

I'm not as old as you, but yes, this is how to lose weight properly. We walk a lot, probably 5 miles a day on average too.
You do get to a point that it gets harder to lose more.

I’ve lost about 45. The number one trick is patience. You have to accept that this is a process and lifestyle change. Diets don’t work for the long term

I’m down 180 lbs in 2 and a 1/2 years. Stay away from worrying about a scale. Focus on losing body fat%. Stay in a calorie deficit, prep your meals. I have found if I prep my food, I know i can stay in a calorie deficit. If I don’t and go lookin, I eat like crap and throw everything off. I work out 6 days a week. This has been lost just always researching. Don’t fall for “easy” tricks or sleazy gimmicks. Nothing about this is easy. No weight loss pills or drinks, no surgery. This is my lifestyle now.
