One Terro trap solved a terrible sugar ant problem I had earlier this year.
Pretty sure the active ingredient in terro is borax

Bingo
The only change I would recommend is soaking a few cotton-balls in the solution and putting them out instead of just pouring the solution on your counter (Less messy). Within about an hour of putting them out, you'll have dozens of ants crawling all over the cotton-balls. Then, after a couple of days, you should have no more ants (at least from that colony)
I would imagine making the Borax solution is much cheaper than the Terro. Plus, a box of Borax will last your much, much longer should the ants return.

For cleaning the path they use inside your house, use straight vinegar. Wipe the counters, inside cabinets, where ever they have passed with a cloth soaked with vinegar. It will smell a little bit at first, but it will soon go away. The smell doesn't linger for long. Also, mop the floor with water mixed with vinegar. All insects hate vinegar and will avoid it. It also makes your floors shine too. Try it!

It was an impressive sight.
I got Terro liquid ant bait (a couple of boxes along their line of march) and they were all dead in 2 days.

I treat with talstar pro. I spray the perimeter of the house and any visible mounds. There isn't anything crawling around my house. I get it from Amazon.

That's basically all the ant bait thing I posted about are. You can buy little bottles of it too if you don't want the fancy packaging. That's what I use just because it's more convenient then mixing stuff up all the time.

3 pronged approach;
1) Ant bait gel inside. Once they are inside you have to bait them.
2) Suspend SC on all interior walls at perimeter and around exterior of slab perimeter including brick weep holes.
3) Talstar PL in yard and concentrated around exterior perimeter/flower beds.

Use bleach not vinegar. But until you kill the colony you will have problems. If you notice them coming in the window seal, spray outside in any hole you can find around, even in the brick.
Best thing if you can't find the colony is get you a gel that the ants can carry back and eventually it will eliminate it. It's a long process unless you can kill colony.
Some colonies can even be in the next door neighbors yard.Just follow the trail and when you put the gel out don't kill the ants let them eat.

Thanks everyone... I went ahead and bought the Terro and its like Mardi Gras for those suckers... They are swarming the trap like its half off nite at the Mustang Ranch... Hope it works. Will update again later.

just find the hole in the wall that they are coming in through and spray the frick out of it with some bengal roach spray....problem solved...
