Been living in home for 17 years and suddenly I have ants getting into my kitchen. I use Cyonara 9.7 pesticide and just put in new order because I ran out last time I used it a few months back. However, I spoke to expert at Do It Yourself Pest Control and he advised that the Cyonara is great contact killer but will not kill the colony. I need bait that invaders will eat or bring back to the nest.

Does anybody have a recommendation for best bait or method for killing these little bastards?

Go outside, trace your driveway, likely they are along the edge of it somewhere. They like to follow that edge until they get into the house.

Terro liquid ant baits worked for me. I had those tiny little black ants (sugar ants maybe) in my kitchen. I put a few of those baits out and within a few days all the ants were gone.

Thanks fellow NGA. I think the colony is in crawlspace somewhere. I was thinking of using bait inside kitchen and in crawlspace. I cant find the outside entry point.

Could be under there, but I've also found the nests pretty far away from my house. Even alongside the road. They will go pretty damn far looking for food.

Did you observe a lot of ant activity in traps and ignore it so they could bring poison back to colony?

I tried some stuff that I bought at the store, but it didn't totally eliminate the issue, so I had a pest company come out and open a can of whoop-arse...

have you found the little holes where they are coming in and out?

I have winged ants, both large and very tiny winged ants, crawling into my upstairs bathroom from somewhere outside.

I have tried different sprays and nothing is working...

Not yet. We did an addition to our home years back and the addition part sits on crawlspace outside which buts up to kitchen. I hate crawling under the house but will deliver the poison. I just want to make sure it is effective the first time.

I just noticed the few paths they were normally taking inside getting lesser & lesser each day until I no longer saw any ants...The baits were put along these paths.

Gonna try the Terro liquid feeders. The only think I don't like is that it keeps them coming for a couple of days apparently but in order for it to work they need to go back and forth to colony with the poison in them. Could be interesting to observe! Never had ants like this before. Little black ones.

Yes, Once you put the traps down leave the ants alone. It usually takes a few days then no more ants. Resist the urge to kill the ants in your house those ants are now working for you as Double agents.

This works AND kills the colony. Had my first sugar ants about a month ago attacking the kitchen counter. I mixed about two tablespoons of Borax and one tablespoon of sugar and poured that behind the toaster oven. All ants completely disappeared in about four days. Google it.

Yea I saw that and will try this if Terro fails. Thanks for the tip.
