I was born and raised in Baton Rouge and lived there all the way through my time at LSU. I moved to NOLA after that, Dallas for the last 4 years, and recently to Austin.
While I certainly don't think creating St. George is inherently a bad idea, it doesn't truly solve the problem. Baton Rouge will become a dumpster fire in a hurry and the anger towards St. George will be real.

The blue area is inside BR.
Dick’s is in the blue area.
Look at all gerrymandering by the city of BR that bypasses even small parcels of land you can cut with a walk behind mower. Sad looks like a piece of Swiss cheese. I guess big boxes in the mall do not want to be apart of BR and pay the extra CATS tax.
